Whitney Houston will be laid to rest at a private funeral on Saturday, one week after she was found dead in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton.
The invitation-only ceremony ? which is said to include a performance by her godmother, legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin ? will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Houston's hometown of Newark, New Jersey. Though the general public are not allowed to attend, they will be able to watch live on the Internet thanks to an Associated Press news feed.

After reports that he had been banned by family, Houston's troubled ex-husband Bobby Brown is said to be back on the guest list. The two divorced in 2007, ending a 15-year marriage marred by abuse and drug addiction.

Houston's music touched her fans deeply, and there has been an overwhelming outpouring of grief and admiration, despite her personal demons. A makeshift memorial has been erected outside New Hope, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has declared that all flags in the state be flown at half-staff on Saturday.

Even Osama Bin Laden was a fan of Houston's. A former mistress of the assassinated terrorist mastermind alleges in a new book that Bin Laden pined for the singer and fantasized about murdering Bobby Brown in order to claim Houston as his own.

On the streets of her hometown of Newark, Houston's friends and fans remember her.

Houston was among the greatest singers of the 1980s and 1990s, but her personal life and marriage to singer Bobby Brown was tumultuous. She admitted to heavy use of cocaine, marijuana, alcohol and prescription pills.

Her death at age 48 shocked her family, fans and the music industry.

Houston was found underwater in a hotel bathtub on the eve of the music industry's Grammy Awards. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

(roll footage)They visited the set of her movie she was working on at the time of her death Sparkle, and the cameras rolled as Houston belted out a tune in her character of a gospel singer.

Hi everyone, welcome back to ClevverMusic, I'm your host Bridget Daly. With the Oscars taking place this weekend, everyone is wondering if the Academy will pay tribute to the late Whitney Houston like at the Grammys recently. Whitney fans have flooded blogs and websites since her death campaigning for her to be recognized during the In Memorium segment of the show, which recognizes industry greats who have passed within the year.
Fans are criticizing the Grammy tribute, saying it should have been more extensive than just Jennifer Hudson's performance. But in their defense, Whitney's sudden death was so close to the Grammy production, that producers likely just did anything they could to insert a tribute into the show.
As you know, the Oscars came under fire in 2010 after failing to recognize Farrah Fawcett during their show, so it remains to be seen what they will do with Whitney. Whitney Houston's tragic death is still fresh in our minds, and Hollywood is already talking about a biopic on the late singer. And you'll never believe who is on the short list to play the iconic star?Rihanna! Houston mentor Clive Davis is reportedly shopping around a film about Whitney's life, and is hoping to have a script finalized quote "as soon as possible."
Apparently the person at the top of the list to play the star is none other than Rihanna. Other actresses in contention include Vivica A. Fox, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks, while Willow Smith has mentioned as a possible younger version of the star. Now as you might remember, last year Rihanna turned down the opportunity to star in a remake of Houston's film The Bodyguard. But we have a feeling any singer slash actress would jump at the chance to play Whitney in a biopic. Hi everyone, welcome back to ClevverMusic, I'm Bridget Daly. Ever since Whitney Houston's tragic death a few weeks ago everyone has been wondering what exactly was the cause of it. Unfortunately we still don't have many answers. According to the Boombox her death has been ruled an accident. The Beverly Hills Police department spoke out today saying they still haven't received a formal cause of death from the coroner's office, which they need before the investigation is closed.

They don't believe foul play is involved, and aren't naming any people of interest in the case. A source close to the case said quote, "She had no marks on her body whatsoever to indicate a struggle, and she was the furthest thing from trying to kill herself."

We'll have to wait until the official toxicology report comes in, which usually takes weeks especially in high profile cases. Stick with ClevverMusic for more details to come, and we'll keep you posted.
