Milton Keynes - 6th April, 2011 - International publisher 505 Games and developer Rebellion today announced the long-awaited console sequel to third person tactical WWII shooter, with Sniper Elite V2.

Sniper Elite V2 will be a modern take on the critically and publically acclaimed classic Sniper Elite for the current generation of consoles -- revitalising a genre all of its own when it is released in 2012.

Released in 2005, Sniper Elite saw gamers playing an American OSS secret agent disguised as a German sniper in Berlin during the final days of World War II.

It earned considerable public and critical applause with its blend of stealth action - which emphasised patience and cunning over reflexes alone - culminating in being awarded 'Best PC/Console Game' at the TIGA awards 2005.

"It's very exciting to be working with one of the new breed of major publishers like 505 Games," said Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion. "Sniper Elite was an important, genre-defining property and we're hoping to have even greater success by teaming up with the talented guys at 505."

Chris Kingsley, CTO of Rebellion, also said: "It's fantastic for us to be involved in the world of Sniper Elite again. We look forward to winning even more awards with Sniper Elite V2 and wowing the consumers with what will be a great game."

"We're very excited to be working with Rebellion on this highly anticipated sequel. Sniper Elite has always been the benchmark of the genre and never been bettered....until now," said Ian Howe, Managing Director of 505 Games.

"Guaranteed that the sequel will be the most authentic WW2 sniping experience ever -- not just in terms of weapon ballistics, but also in delivering the heart-pulsing tension of those do or die moments where one shot really does matter."

Classic Game Room - NBA LIVE 10 review
Classic Game Room HD reviews NBA LIVE 10 from EA SPORTS for Xbox 360, also available for PS3. NBA Live 10 has taken me by surprise because historically, basketball has not made for good video games. Football, soccer, baseball, hockey and golf have all made a logical transition from the real sport to video games with game cartridges dating as far back as 1978 when the Atari 2600 and Magnavox Odyssey 2 were loaded with playable sports titles headlining their catalogs. Basketball was always buried in shame, rarely featured in ads and stuck on the last page of sales brochures behind the glitz of football. Old school basketball video games were terrible. They consisted of two players facing off against each other with a giant pixel that you were supposed to throw at a line. Whoopie! Id rather play Basic Math. Fast forward more than 30 years and push aside that faded VCS Basketball cartridge to make room for NBA Live 10. EA Sports has managed to make a basketball game that jumps off the screen with realism and technical mastery while lavishing the player with fun and well rounded gameplay. Players can pick their favorite team, trade players and manage every detail or just dive right into a fact paced game of basketball. The recent slate of EA Sports titles has impressed me with their ability to be played like arcade-style sports games or team management simulations. Admittedly Im not much of a basketball fan. Pittsburgh doesnt even have a basketball team which left me choosing a team based on proximity. I flipped a coin between Cleveland and Philadelphia and picked Cleveland even through the coin said Philadelphia because I have actually heard of players on Cleveland. I figured that would increase my odds of winning. After a 2-5-0 run through the seas I switched to the Lakers and rained 3 pointers on opposing teams like razor hail on Marcus Fenix (its a Gears of War 2 reference).

The first full official trailer for Teen Wolf season 2 is out, and based on what we're seeing the show looks like it's gone from a romantic thriller to an all-out horror, with a little bit of high school love mixed in. At the close of last season, we saw Derek take over the role of the pack's alpha, and based on the previous alpha's reign of terror, we thought that Derek would be the bad guy in season 2, but the trailer has us rethinking that completely. Allison's family and the other werewolf hunters will declare war in season 2 and battle lines will be drawn. Allison will have to make the choice between the guy she loves and her family's mission. But the wolves won't be the only problem in town. Another type of shape shifter is in their midst and out for blood. We know that Jackson and Lydia have both been turned, although we're not quite sure what they've been turned into as of yet. It seems like Lydia might be the shape shifter in question, especially since Stiles says that he thinks the murderous being knows him. The action looks like it's going to hit an all-time high this season -- if you want to check out the trailer, click the link below. Once the season 2 trailer hits 5-million views, MTV will release the first 10 minutes of the first episode, so jump on it if you want a long sneak peek! Are we close to the reveal of Marvel's mystery movie? It's looking that way and we have two films that could be the most likely candidates.

We previously reported that Marvel Studios has set a May 16th, 2014 release date for an as yet unnamed movie. There has been lots of speculation on what exactly that movie will be, but it's looking like we may be closer than ever to finally finding out.

One such film could be the long awaited Ant-Man movie. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously revealed that the film was as close as it ever has been to getting made and just this past weekend, Edgar Wright, the writer and director tapped to bring the film to the big screen tweeted out this photo with the caption, "Received this in the mail. What can it mean?" It's obviously a nod to Ant-Man, but who it came from and what exactly it means remains a mystery. We do know an Ant-Man movie in 2014 would be the perfect setup for the character and possibly Wasp to be added to the Avengers team for a possible 2015 sequel.

With the reveal of a certain character in the end credits of The Avengers - you can watch that here if you don't know what I'm talking about (point to the left) - another possible movie to hit screens come 2014 is the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Feige recently told Slash Film that the baddie revealed at the end of The Avengers would most likely not come to fruition until either The Avengers 2 or the Guardians of the Galaxy. This news makes his appearance in Thor 2 most likely not happening, but perhaps a proper reveal in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie with an all out war occurring in The Avengers 2?

These are just two possibilities of many, but they are looking more and more like the most logical next step for the studio. Feige has promised that the project will be revealed sometime between now and Comic-Con in July. So what movie do you think will be Marvel's next project and which film do you hope it is? Let us know in the comments and be sure to subscribe to ClevverMovies to stay in the know on all things movies. I'm Misty Kingma, thanks for watching.

Set in World War 2, Sniper Elite V2 is a third person shooter that puts you in the role of an American sharpshooter whose mission is to stop a diabolical plot involving German V2 rockets. This the second game in the series which is developed by Rebellion and published by 505 games. Sniper Elite V2 features grisly bullet time cut scenes that show players exactly what a high velocity round will do to the human skeleton. Yikes, let's see if this game misses the mark or scores a direct hit.

Alright, let's just start at the beginning, the x-ray vision bone shattering kill cams. Their awesome and it's not just bones getting shattered either. Ouch. These cut scenes are really the defining feature of the game and are very rewarding to watch. When you put a round through the eyeball of that sniper that's been pestering you, it feels really really good. Now some of you may be thinking that seeing these gets old after a while. Personally, I didn't get tired of it, but if you do feel it's too repetitive or if you're a bit squeamish in the presence of exploding vital organs, you can always turn down the bullet cam frequency.

In fact the graphics are all around awesome in this game, especially for the PC version. There's an incredible amount of detail put into the constantly shelled cities. When I heard the game was $50 instead of $60 I naturally assumed there would be a drop in graphics quality, but I'm glad to see that's not the case.

Let's talk about gameplay for a second. The emphasis on stealth was a major plus. Sneaking around behind enemy lines, firing only when a loud noise covered your shot, setting up traps in case a patrolling enemy happened upon your sniping roost. It was all awesome. The tools you have at your disposal are really great for setting up entertaining kills. Hey guys, you'd better go investigate that rock. And your dead. Hilarious. The authentic weapons and equipment you get, do a great job of making you feel immersed in the game.

I do have one minor gripe though and it's the stealth kills. After watching the incredibly detailed kill cams, I was a little let down to discover that the animation for a stealth kill was a little bit bland. Something to work on in the next game maybe.

The game wasn't all stealth though, Sniper Elite does a good job of mixing things up and forcing the protagonist to fight wave after wave of Nazis and Soviets who will come at you with machine guns, tanks and their own snipers. You'll have to use every trick in your sniper playbook to survive these assaults, personally I like wounding an enemy and then killing the first person to try to remove them from the battlefield. Yes I'm a horrible person.

Sniper V2 has a multiplayer, but it's definitely not the main draw of the game. If you really like doing nothing for long periods of time, hoping to see the faint glimmer of an enemy's scope, you may enjoy this, but really it wasn't for me. Also, the spawn system in the multiplayer was pretty broken. There were multiple occasions where I would pop up directly behind my enemies which was entertaining for me, but probably pissed them off a bunch.

Alright, so the multiplayer wasn't my favorite, but this isn't really a multiplayer game and the single player is well worth the $50 price tag. Sniper Elite V2, is beautiful, gruesome, and hard to stop playing.
The game gives you a feeling of immersion well beyond most shooters and allows the player to truly sink into the role of a covert sniper. This is the most fun I've had head shotting Nazis in a long time. I give
Sniper Elite V2 a 9 out of 10.
