Sony confirms PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Hey Gamers, what's up and welcome to Clevver Games.
If you're a fan of Super Smash Bros, then you're gonna love the new game Sony announced today titled 'All-Stars Battle Royale'. It's like Super Smash Bros with Playstation characters...not bad deal!
And- a few characters have already been released. The characters include Kratos from God of War, Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, Colonel Radec from Killzone 2, PaRappa the Rapper, and my personal favorite- Fat Princess. There are also support items and level designs that pull from other franchises like Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and Wipeout.
Having trouble deciding which character you're going to play? Parappa the Rapper is strong in close range where he can use his kung fu style fighting on his opponents, while colonel Radec is almost entirely ineffective unless used at a distance- where he relies on firearms and severe tech to kill his enemy.
Sweet Tooth's considerable strength complements his brutal fighting style while Kratos' skill with his arsenal of weapons is obvious. But the two most interesting characters in this preliminary roster are undoubtedly Sly Cooper and Fat Princess. Sly Cooper forfeits his ability to block & instead goes invisible when the L1 button is held down. And , Fat Princess can summon forth minions such as the sword-wielding warrior or the fire-throwing wizard to briefly supplement her attacks.
I'm sure moving forward- we can expect to see additions to the roster. I'm hoping for a little Nathan Drake Action myself. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is due out later this year near the 2012 holiday season, but we'll have more info coming your way during E3. What characters are you hoping to see? Leave me a comment in the comment section below. For more of the latest gaming news check out our Channel page. I'm Hailey Bright and you're watching Clevver Games.
U.N. observers fan out across Syria
(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION)

The U.N. observers mission to Syria is acting fast to increase the number of monitors stationed around troubled regions of Syria, an official with the U.N. advanced team said in Damascus on Sunday (April 29).

"This is a matter of utmost urgency for the United Nations and all efforts are in place to make sure that we get the people on the ground as quickly as possible, even from the advanced team that was here (Damascus) until now, as you saw already, apart from Damascus we have permanently based observers in Homs, Hama, Deraa and Idlib, so this process will continue," he told journalists, as monitors set out for fresh field visits to troubled areas.

Singh added that Major General Robert Mood, a Norwegian who was appointed Head of the U.N. supervision mission in Syria, would arrive in the capital Damascus later on Sunday.

Mood is said to be a veteran of struggling Middle East truces who knows Syria well.

U.N. monitors continue to trickle into Syria to observe the ceasefire announced on April 10 and officials say 30 of a planned 300-strong mission should be in place by Monday (April 30), to reinforce observers already stationed in anti-Assad hotbeds such as Idlib, Hama, Homs and Deraa.

The slow build-up, more than two weeks after the truce came into effect, has been derided by Assad's foes and intensified frustration in Western capitals, where leaders want firmer measures imposed on Damascus sooner rather than later.

The presence of the monitors has emboldened many thousands of protesters to resume demonstrations after weeks of military crackdown, but activists say Assad's forces responded swiftly.

Russia stepped criticism of anti-Assad militias on Saturday (April 28), following a seaborne attack by gunmen on a Syrian military unit stationed near the sea port of Latakia.

Justin Bieber was spotted saying hello to fans at the Tribeca Film Festival and one lucky lady even scored a kiss from the 18 year old mega-star. But before you get too crazy over this innocent smooch -- it was just a kiss on the cheek and totally appropriate. Justin and his manager Scooter Braun attended the film festival to accept a prestigious honor at the Disruptive Innovation awards. JB and Braun were received the Disrupt award for breaking the mold in the music industry with social media and the internet. Justin tweeted out to say QUOTE: "Got the DISRUPT award at the Tribeca Film festival -- in school I got in trouble for being disruptive. Look at me now!" We have Justin and Scooter's full acceptance speech over at ClevverTV.com -- if you want to check it out click the link below. Well its Monday and that means ONE THING...the avengers assemble in four short days! I was lucky enough to see the flick before it hits the big screen (I know, I Know), so here are MY thoughts on the avengers. Honestly, I don't even want to do a review bc it was just THAT good...nothing I say will justify the greatness of this flick...it's a must see, and joss whedon NAILED this one folks.

The action is edge of your seat, and you actually FEEL the connection between these superheroes...The avengers adventure is one you WONT want to miss out on...as cliché as it sounds, you will laugh, possibly shed a tear, and the final act will be better than the perfection you hope for.

So we all know the premise...Nick Fury Assembles the avengers so they can save the world from evil loki and his army...which spoiler alert, are in fact the chitari. As the avengers are gathered from their respective lives, we get a glimpse into whats been going on for each of the superheros...so its safe to say, this film is for everyone...not just those with a deep knowledge of the marvel universe. The big question leading up to the avengers was, will it be TOO over the top for the average consumer to enjoy...while it is over the top, in the best way possible, its not so convoluted that it would hinder a non master of the marvel universe from understanding whats going on. Of course the extra knowledge helps piece together the plot much better, but by no means was it required to have scored an Aplus in avengers 101 --- although, if you hav a chance to watch iron man, thor, or cap America prior to heading out to see the avengers, it wouldn't hurt and will probably make the film even more enjoyable for you. Either way, the movie will and DOES make sense for everyone.

While all the super heros brought their a game, I will say the hulk stole the show. Why? Well, he is one of the avengers we, as average movie goer knew the least about. Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America have graced our silver screens in the last couple of years...hulk, not so much. But Bruce Banner was the troubled guy we could all relate to, and the hulk was the dude we were rooting for to just tear ish up...and that he did! One of my favorite scenes in the movie featured him literally "smashing" loki on the ground...sorry for the spoiler...it was amazing...and the entire theatre lit up with laughter...bc while the hulk is someone not to be messed with...there was comic relief in his delivery...a perfect balance between the two.

And that is the best way for me to describe the avengers. A perfect balance...the film brought us the in your face action we all craved and anticipated, but didn't forget about the story...the emotion that kept us in our seats, highly engaged for the duration of the film. I was rooting for the avengers not only because they were the heros, but also because throughout the movie, we got to know the characters on a deeper level than just butt kicking super heros.

All in all The Avengers is a must see for everyone and comes highly recommended from us at clevver movies. The film is already breaking records internationally, and come Friday, I am thinking may be the biggest superhero film of all time.

Please make sure you tell us what you thought as soon as you have seen the movie, after all, YOU are our favorite critic. Im Tatiana carrier, thanks so much for watching!

Dark Shadows hits theaters on May 11th, 2012.

Cast: Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Moretz, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Jonny Lee Miller, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth's ne'er-do-well brother, Roger Collins, (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David's new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

The Avengers is a hit, but the summer movie season is just getting started. We're breaking down all the hottest movies you won't want to miss this summer. Next up is Dark Shadows on May 11th. Johnny Depp stars as Barnabus Collins, an 18th century playboy who's turned into a vampire and buried alive by a jilted witch. He is inadvertently freed and finds himself in 1972 and must learn to adjust to his new surroundings and help his troubled descendants. If you haven't gotten your comedy fix with Dark Shadows, Sacha Baron Cohen returns on May 16th, this time in The Dictator, the heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Battleship sails into theaters that same week on May 18th. Already a hit overseas, Battleship is loosely based on the Hasbro board game and follows a U.S. Navy fleet that must take down an invading alien armada. This one stars Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson and Brooklyn Decker. May 25th marks the return of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as our favorite Men In Black in the third installment of the popular franchise. This time, Agent J must travel back in time to the 1960's to stop an alien from assassinating his friend Agent K. We're looking forward to this one just to see the spot on impression Josh Brolin does as a Young Agent K. The Avengers star Chris Hemsworth returns on June 1st as a Huntsman hired by the Evil Queen to kill Snow White, but instead decides to teach her how to kick butt in this reimagining of the classic fairy tale. Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron co-star. On June 8th, Ridley Scott returns to his sci-fi roots with Prometheus, a prequel of sorts to his 1979 Alien film. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce. June 15th will have two comedies vowing for your hard earned dollars with Adam Sandler playing Andy Samberg's deadbeat dad in That's My Boy and Tom Cruise rocking out in the adaptation of the hit musical Rock of Ages. History gets a horrific rewrite on June 22nd with the release of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Based on the best seller by Seth Grahame-Smith, the film finally reveals our 16th President as the axe wielding vampire hunter he truly was. Also out June 22nd is Pixar's thirteenth full length film and the first with a female lead, Brave. The film tells the story of Princess Merida who must rely on her bravery and archery skills to undo a beastly curse. The Joes are a go on June 29th. Dwanye Johnson and Bruce Willis take charge in this sequel that promises much more action than the 2009 original. From what we've seen of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Channing Tatum won't be getting much screen time as Duke this go round. If want to see even more of Channing, and we do mean more, then you can check him out also that week in Magic Mike where he plays a male stripper. Fourth of July brings us Andrew Garfield taking over for Tobey Maguire in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'. Spidey must take on Lizard in this reboot that co-stars Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy. So there you have it, some of the big movies you won't want to miss this summer. This is just the tip of the iceberg that promises to be one of the best seasons for movies ever. Which of these films are you planning to see? Let us know in the comments section and be sure to subscribe to ClevverMovies to stay up to date on all latest movie news all summer. I'm Tatiana Carrier, thanks for watching.
