MARS AND VENUS -

Mars & Venus are five best friends hailing from the frosty city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada playing an eclectic mix of rock, alternative and post-punk music.
Only three months after forming and just two days after releasing their EP entitled, "Stray Bullets Make Brave Hearts," Mars and Venus ventured south of the border... and south of that border, on a five week headlining tour spanning the US and Mexico. Their 3rd show EVER was in Tijuana, Mexico, some 3000kms from their hometown!
Among a couple of the press appearances in Mexico, the band was shown on a local Coatzacoalcos, Mexico TV station for two nights of performances and interviews, featured in the daily newspaper and advertised for the local annual festival off the Gulf of Mexico. Emisora4 Radio in Saltillo, Mexico featured the band on air and radio and news interviews took place in many other Mexican cities as the buzz of a Canadian rock band touring the country took over.
Somehow through the insanity of 24hr+ driving stretches and violent salmonella poisoning, Mars & Venus was able to craft a voice all their own; a unique style influenced from bands such as; Thrice, U2, Strung Out, Moneen, Alexisonfire and Avenged Sevenfold. Their commitment to their music is evident and is gaining them a strong and steadily growing fan base all over the world.
Strengthened by a fresh line up which includes new drummer Jordan Tworek and former drummer-turned-guitarist Nathan Lafrance, Mars & Venus is poised to turn some heads and take the world by storm. Their mix of sweeping melodies, soaring vocals, and intense energy proves they are a group committed to moving people through their music.
Mars & Venus' first independently released full length album "Faded Maps and Winding Ways," which features the single "Shades of White," hit the airwaves across the continent in February. The band is currently on a North American tour to promote the new album.
Notable Achievements:
-Numerous press appearances on the first Major Tour.

-Been added to and taken part in numerous festivals around the continent.
-Near 40,000 profile views and 35,000 plays on Myspace in less than 2 years.
-Over 900 fans on Facebook following the band daily from around the world.

The Dig are a rock band from NYC. Their music, written by the bands' three main songwriters, is often based on early rock n roll song forms layered with synths and delivered by alternating lead vocalists. Singers Emile Mosseri and David Baldwin have been making music in various bands together since they were 11 years old. They met up with keyboardist/guitarist Erick Eiser while still in high school, and after writing music together throughout college they eventually moved to New York CIty and formed The Dig.

The Dig got their start in the lower east side of NYC in 2008, and spent their first summer handing out flyers on the street, meeting new people and slowly building up an audience one fan at a time. After 8 weeks of residencies at Pianos and a handful of support shows at Bowery Ballroom, they began to sell out shows on their own.

2009-2010 saw the band touring constantly around the U.S., opening for a wide range of bands including The Walkmen, The Antlers, Portugal. the Man, Thrice,The Editors and Here We Go Magic.

Electric Toys
On June 8th, 2010, The Dig released their debut album. Electric Toys, which was hailed by Last.FM as "without a doubt...one of 2010's best albums." Written and arranged by all four members, the songs often tell a story: dark tales with twisted circumstances and desperate people driven to do bad things. Alternately, there are classical references to girls, love, and the many points in between.

Following the release they continued to tour the U.S., supporting fellow blokes and blokette the Joy Formidable, before playing shows with Liam Gallager's new band, Beady Eye, Viva Brother, Glasvegas and the Postelles.

Produced by Bryce Goggin, Electric Toys' diverse batch of songs helped land The Dig a number of placements on TV shows like Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries.

As the summer of 2011 winds down, The Dig are currently putting the finishing touches on their new album, which they plan to release in early 2012. In the meantime, you can check out the new video for their song off Electric Toys, "You're Already Gone," at Baeblemusic.com.
