Just yesterday famed Chipmunks actor/singer/mischief-maker Alvin and his brothers Simon and Theodore became part of Hollywood history at a hand and footprint -- make that paw and paw-print -- ceremony at Hollywood's legendary Chinese Theatre. Moments later Alvin suddenly disappeared, leaving Jason Lee, several filmmakers, Twentieth Century Fox studio executives, and many Alvin and the Chipmunks fans -- asking each other, "Where is Alvin?" Plans have been made to locate Alvin, including a website, www.whereisalvin.com at which fans can post videos and photos of their "Alvin Sightings." While the Chipmunks are on tour in Switzerland, Brittany is depressed about the Chipettes' relative lack of fame. So Alvin arranges for the ultimate Swiss publicity stunt: the gang will climb the Matterhorn and the Chipettes will give a concert at the mountain's peak. But they soon become trapped in an avalanche.

So before you check out the munks in theatres, lets see what the critics are saying! IN Alvin in the chipmunks, chipwrecked, The vacationing Chipmunks and Chipettes are turning a luxury cruise liner into their personal playground, until they become 'chipwrecked' on a remote island. As the 'Munks and Chipettes try various schemes to find their way home, they accidentally discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems John Anderson from Variety saud, "Largely inoffensive but equally unimaginative." . Michael Rachestaffen from the Hollywood reporter said, "Well, at least it isn't in 3D." . And finally as if they couldn't get worse, Jake Coyle from associated press said, " Puns like these would be unforgivable coming from a human. From high-pitched rodents, they prompt calls for an exterminator." . YIKES! Weekend Box Office Wrap-Up Sherlock Holmes vs the Chipmunks

Hey everyone, thanks for tuning back in, im your host, Tatiana carrier With YOUR weekend wrap up! This weekend, the openers totally owned the box office, but can you guess which flick came in the top spot and took in the big bucks? . If you guessed Sherlock holmes a game of shadows, you guessed correctly! Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows brought in an incredible $40.0 million throughout the weekend proving once again that holmes and Watson still have it! . Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked came in second with $23.5 million. Despite the poor reviews from the critics, the families still came out to support Alvin, simon and Theodore...but were you one of the 23 million who watched the singing monks get Chipwrecked? . In third place was Mission: Impossible ? Ghost Protocol ? with$13.0 mil...not bad at all, but definitely thought it would do better considering the dark knight rises prologue...I wonder how it would have done without the caped crusader? . New Year's Eve came in 4th place with $7.4 million proving that despite horrible reviews from both movie goers and critics alike, star power is something NOT to be reckoned with! The mega ensemble cast will most likely continue to draw crowds throughout the weekend. . And finally, the comedy of the bunch, Jonah hills The Sitter came in 5th with 4.4 million...which is pretty impressive considering its just Jonah and 2 kids carrying the entire flick...some called it a bootleg version of and 80s up all night style flick, but obviously the comedy seekers are still turing out to watch hill in action. . Weekend Box Office Wrap-Up Ghost Protocol vs Sherlock Holmes

Hey Movie Buffs, Joshua Ovenshire here for Clevver Movies filling in for Tatiana Carrier. Normally we recap a three day weekend for box office sales, but because of the holiday we're looking at numbers from a four day holiday weekend Friday through Monday. Let's see how it turned out. Coming in first was the blockbuster sequel, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It opened with a whopping $46.2 million dollars. We saw it on the charts last week, but with its wide release this week, it's easy to see how it jumped to that number one slot. Second place is another sequel in fact, Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows took home $31.8 Million dollars. Guy Ritchie brings us the second installment of one of our favorite detectives played by Robert Downey Jr and his trusted sidekick Watson played by Law reprising his role. It's everything we had in the first one but raised to the next level. A must watch and a great laugh. Still holding on to it's place in the charts, is Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked in third place with $20 Million dollars. Now critics didn't have many good things to say about this flick, but really, it's a kids movie and at the end of the day, it's them with the deciding vote. So with all the tikes out on break, they're asking mom and dad to take them to see this third movie in the Chimpmunk franchise. Fourth place did surprisingly well for being an R rated holiday release. Girl With The Dragon Tattoo racked up $19.4 Million dollars. This movie was actually released on Tuesday December 20th, and the numbers recorded are only from Friday to Monday. I'm sure we'll see this movie stay on the charts for a while though, it's just building up it's audience right now. And wrapping up the top five is The adventures of Tin Tin. This is actually one of TWO movies directed by Steven Spielberg released last week and it took home $16.1 Million dollars. Personally, I think this is a great movie, and as word spreads I think we can expect to see this family film do quite well in the box office. Well there it is ladies and gentleman. Numbers don't lie. Even with the hectic holidays at hand, audiences still made it to the movies. But we here at Clevver movies want to know what you saw!
