Mya Marie Harrison chanteuse, danseuse et actrice américaine née le 10 octobre 1979 à Washington D.C. aux États-Unis. son père est afro-américain et sa mère est d'origine italienne. Elle a eu son baccalauréat à 16 ans et elle a débuté sa carrière en 1998.
Elle fait un premier album éponyme, Mya, en 1998, et se fait par la suite remarquer en chantant le refrain de "Ghetto Superstar" (chanson tirée de la bande originale du film Bullworth).
Grande fan de Michael Jackson, Mya fait une reprise de Lady In My Life (Man In My Life) dans son second album, Fear Of Flying, sorti en 2000. Cet album est un succès, notamment grace au tube "Case Of The Ex". Elle collabore ainsi avec quelques grands noms, dont Left Eye, des TLC.
Entre temps, Mya, grande amatrice de cinéma, fait quelques apparitions sur la grande toile, entre autres dans Chicago (2001) où elle interprète le rôle de Mona.
Son troisième album, Moodring, de l'année 2003 n'atteint pas les espérances de la chanteuse. Alors elle préfère les collaborations, et frappe dans les bandes originales (Moulin Rouge, The Rugrats...)
A 27 ans, elle a fini l'enregistrement de son quatrième album, Liberation, qui devrait sortir d'ici 2007.
