Whats up movie buffs, Im Tatiana Diana and ive got a GI Joe: Cobra Strikes casting couch update! According to deadline, Adrianne Palicki from Friday Night Lights will play the femaleblead in Paramounts GI Joe Seqeul, "GI Joe Cobra strikes!" Palicki, who recently played another comic-book character "Wonder Woman" in the failed NBC pilot, will play Lady Jaye alongside a pretty kick ass cast. Channing Tatum is returning as Duke and Dwayne "the rock" Johnson who just signed on to play the role of Roadblock to name just 2. No confirmation yet, but Ray Park is expected to reprise his role as snake eyes. We also recently reported the addition of RZA to the cast roster, which we are all very excited about! As you can probably tell from all the casting couch updates, they are casting quickly because they want the film ready by next summer now that the Star Trek sequel won't be ready in time! In other words, the race is on! GI Joe: Cobra Strikes is directed by Jon M Chu and is set to release August 10, 2012. What do you think of the newly cast lead female, Adrianne Palicki? Hey guys, thanks for tuning back into cleaver movies, im Tatiana carrier and ive got the details on what aparamount execs have to say about their top movies! According to the Hollywood reporter Paramount Pictures is "developing ideas for Paranormal Activity 4" and a fourth Transformers movie. Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman dished this plus he said that a Star Trek sequel could hit theaters in 2013! The CEO also disclosed that J.J. Abrams is "focused on developing the next installment of our Star Trek franchise" for a potential release in 2013. And just when you thought we couildnt get any more exciting info, COO Tom Dooley reported that Paramount is working on a Nickelodeon-branded live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. The Turtles, which were featured in several films in the past, are coming to Nickelodeon in 2012 in animated form. Transformers 4 was also mentioned a day earlier by Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner who had reiterated that he hoped to have news on a potential fourth installment over the next quarter. He said, "It would be silly for us not to talk about having another Transformers movie." So which of these flicks are you most excited for? Tatiana Carrier for clevver movies with an update on the star trek sequel. . Our pals at TrekMovie gave us an exclusive update on the status for pre-production on the project including locations, the script and casting. We also have news on the exact date for the start of filming! SO without further ado here are the trek facts! . The official start date for production on the Star Trek sequel is January 15th, 2012. And you die hard trek fans know this is over four years and two months after the start of production for the 2009 Star Trek movie which began shooting on November 7th, 2007. . Pre-production for the Star Trek sequel has been underway for a few months. It began using the famous "extensive outline" but sources tell TrekMovie a draft script has been completed and submitted to the studio. . Also, much of the design work for the film has been completed, with the team again headed by Scott Chambliss as production designer. And construction has already started for some of the new sets. Many sets and location set dressing elements from the 2009 film (such as the USS Enterprise) have been in storage and will be re-used for the sequel. . In addition to all that, ILM has already started work on some of the effects shots for the movie. While effects work is often considered part of post-production, there are many space effects shots which can be made without the need of any filmed elements. . As far as the locations...the team lead by director JJ Abrams is currently picking locations. TrekMovie has learned that Abrams himself traveled to Hawaii to scout a location which is being seriously considered for a "jungle planet." Shooting will also include a museum in Los Angeles standing in for what a source said was a "famous Star Trek location." And as per usual with a Star Trek film, studio shooting will take place on a number of stages on the Paramount lot. . And for the cast: all the main cast from the original Star Trek movie are returning and the casting process for new characters is currently being discussed, however sources indicate none of the new roles have been cast so far. . According to our friends at deadline, Star Trek 3D is set to release may 17, 2013 due to a sudden slot opening after roland emmerichs singulatiry got moved from may to November! . JJ Abrahams star trek sequel, which has No title yet, is a highly anticipated one to say the least, and fans couldn't be more excited about the news of the flick coming sooner than expected and in 3d! . The first of Abram's rebooted franchise opened May 8, 2009 for a $79M weekend and ultimate did $258M in North America and $130M international at the box office. The pic is being produced by all those writers and Bryan Burk, who is JJ's Bad Robot production partner. . And for all of you wondering, all key cast members will be returning, including Chris Pin, Zach Quinto and Zoe Saldana. . Im Tatiana carrier with the latest from Star Trek, the sequel. . Well, its official! According to our friends at Variety, J.J. Abrams has tapped veteran thesp Peter Weller for the ensemble cast of Paramount's upcoming "Star Trek" sequel. We still don't have the specifics on Wellers role, but we do know that his choice came after he chose a character, Alice Eve, who we think is a newbie to the bunch. . As we have previously reported, the main cast roster is made up of stars from the previous installment including chris pine, Zachary quinto, and just added, Benicio del Toro as villain! . Abrams is directing from a script by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. Production is expected to start in early 2012 with Paramount planning to release the highly anticipated film on May 17, 2013. . Benicio Del Toro Drops Out Of 'Star Trek' Sequel

Hey there trekkies, Tatiana carrier for clevver movies with the latest on the highly anticipated star trek sequal! . As you guys know, the sequel to the successful reboot of Star Trek has been a long-in-development priority for Paramount and director J.J. Abrams, and the Enterprise is currently scheduled to begin production this January....BUT sadly, now, according to New York Mag, the spot of villain is now Vacant after benicio del toro has dropped out due to monetary conflicts! . So now who will fill that very important role? We have no clue, but abrams wil have to scramble to replace del toro...beyond who will fill the role, WHO IS THIS VILLIAN ANYWAY? Well, when Del Toro's name was first linked to the project, speculation ran rampant that he might play Khan, immortalized once before on the big screen by Ricardo Montalban in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. . So much to think about, so much to speculate!!! But I gotta know, what do YOU guys think? 1) who do you think should replace del toro, and 2) WHO do you think the villain will be? Best answer wins!!! Hey guys, thanks for tuning into clevver movies, Your number once source for movie news, Im your host Tatiana carrier with an update on the much talked about star trek villain! . We just reported this week that Beneicio del toro stepped down as star trek villain due to moeteary issues, and now according to Variety, Edgar Ramirez from bourne ultimatum and domino, is now the front runner to play Star Trek 2's villain! Jordi Molla who you may from bad boys 3 and blow is also in the running ...so we will have to wait and see! . While nothing is set in stone just yet, director J.J. Abrams is expected to make a decision before the weekend, since the January 15 production start date is quickly approaching! . Star Trek cast members Chris Pine,Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin are expected to return for Star Trek 2...the villain? Well, we will have to keep you guys posted on that one! 'Star Trek 2' Plot Clues Hidden In Comics

Reading is the key to knowledge folks, and the Star Trek comics are proving it! . Hey guys and gals, Joshua Ovenshire here filling in for Tatiana Carrier with Clevver Movies. Back in 2009 J.J. Abrams gave us a reboot to the Star Trek universe taking it to a new and brilliant direction Since then we've been waiting patiently for that sequel. Now very little has been revealed about the movie so far, heck, we don't even have a set cast list in play. BUT it looks like if you've been following the new Star Trek comics, you may already have a headstart on what's going on. . Mike Johnson, the writer for the comic series, has revealed that he's been, very subtly, dropping hints on what we can expect from the sequel set to release in May of 2013. Mike said in an interview recently . we are able to use the ongoing series to very subtly lay in clues to the next movie," . In fact, he even teases us saying that there may be some hints of a sub plot in the first issue. So as fan flip back to issue number one, the newly released fourth issue includes some "thematic foreshadowing". And it doesn't stop there. They will continue dropping clues as we get closer to the release of the sequel. When the movie does finally release you'll be able to look back at the comics and say, Ohhhh, I see what they did there. . So what are you waiting for? Go down and support you local comic book store and pick up the back issues and put those detective skills to use! 'Star Trek 2' Casting Update

Hey guys thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host Tatiana carrier and ive got a casting update from JJ Abrams star trek sequel! . According to Deadline, British film actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in a lead role in the film. No word yet on whether he'll be a hero or villain, but many in the industry are speculating that he will play the lead villain in the film. If this is true, rumors that the villain for the second installment of the reboot would be the infamous "Khan", originally played by Ricardo Montalban in the original series and 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, are most likely false, unless Abrams decides to take Khan in a much different direction this go round. Cumberbatch has gained recent attention playing the title role in the hit BBC series Sherlock and landed high-profile roles in Oscar potential films War Horse and Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy. He will next be seen, or at least heard, voicing the roles of Smaug the Dragon and The Necromancer in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit films. . Another actor to join the cast is Cumberbatch's fellow Brit, Noel Clarke, who you may know best from his role as "Mickey Smith" in that other popular BBC series, Doctor Who. Clarke will reportedly play a family man, with a wife and daughter. Not much to go on from that description, but let's hope he doesn't end up being a crewmember with a red shirt. We all know what happens to those guys. . Clarke and cumberbatch joins fellow Brit Alice Eve and Peter Weller in the film's cast, while Edgar Ramirez and Jordi Molla were, last we heard, fighting it out to replace Benicio Del Toro as the film's villain, who may or may not be Khan. With the addition of Cumberbatch to the cast, we'll have to wait and see if there's still a role to be had. . Either way we will find out soon enough as shooting is set to begin later this month!
