Hey everyone I'm Brian Corsetti and you're watching Clevver Music. Arcade Fire took home the most Juno Awards in Toronto over the weekend, and the band is PUMPED! They also won the best album, (for "The Suburbs") For best album, the group beat out Justin Bieber's "My World 2.0," Drake's "Thank Me Later," Hedley's "The Show Must Go On," and "A Place Called Love." Thirty-two awards were given out, plus two special honors to Twain and Young, were awarded on the televised performance on Sunday at the Air Canada Centre. Young asked "what year was this?" when he won for best artist, a category that included Bieber, Drake, Sarah McLachlan and Johnny Reid. Besides Arcade Fire and Young, Justin Bieber was the only other artist to collect more than one award, nabbing fan choice award and best pop album. But the pop star did not show up..... Being half Kenyan and Swiss and having lived on three different continents and in four different countries with multiple self-released EP's, Manuela is now calling Edmonton, Alberta, Canada home - at least for now. In February 2010 she released her first full-length album "A Different Kind of Fire," her own Independent label, Golden Recordings and followed this release with a Western Canadian tour to the 2010 Winter Olympics.

With the support of Alberta Music, Urban Music Association Canada, CBC Radio, CKUA, CJSR and Ourstage.com, Manuela is broadening her fan base one song at a time. After almost 15,000 plays on Ourstage.com her single "Circling Numbers" was voted on by thousands of listeners and placed Manuela fourth, regionally, in the recent Ourstage.com Lilith Fair Contest, in which Sarah McLachlan and her team reviewed each of the Top twenty ranked entries. Manuela is also emerging out to be one of the top Pop artists on Ourstage.com having spent 17 weeks on the BEST OF POP chart, peaking at number 15 and falling back to as low as number 30. Her single "Circling Numbers" is also included in the 2010/2011 Alberta Music Sampler which will be distributed at some of the industry's major music festivals, including Canadian Music Week, North by Northeast (NXNE), South by Southwest (SXSW), 2010 BreakOut West Conference, and the Juno's.

Her sweet acoustic fusion of pop, jazz and soul soars on the wings of her wander-lust. Kenyan and Swiss, Manuela's heritage anchors her lyrics in love, dreams and freedom. Manuela's control of her beautiful voice is a new kind of fire that burns deep.

Memarie (pronounced "memory") has been singing since she learned how to talk and knew early on that music was the soundtrack by which she would live her life. The ardent music fan soaked in all types of music which eventually led her to discover and polish a style that would become all her own. Her parents entered the budding performer into numerous talent shows and festivals, and she was playing in their band by the time she was eight years old! Memarie remembers, "From the first time they let me sing on stage with their band, I was hooked! I knew in that moment that the stage was where I felt the most myself. I was home."

Memarie just finished writing and co-producing her new record, "Faith Over Fear". Wrapping up the project was multi Grammy award winner Tom Lord-Alge for mixing. He has worked with artist such as Faith Hill, Dave Matthews, Sarah McLachlan, Avril Levign and many more . It was important to Memarie that none of the music's integrity was lost.... "I am very proud of my new record because it is a piece of work I was very involved in from beginning to end. Hearing my vision come to life by Co-producing this CD with producer Jake Rye was a great experience. I feel like I really let the songs breath and take on their own life. For this reason alone my new CD has an honesty like never before. I am so excited to share this music with my family, friends and fans."
