Zach Braff Joins 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'

The details coming up next! Hey guys I'm Andrea Feczko for Clevver Movies. Zach Braff is the latest star to jump on board Disney's "Oz: The Great and Powerful" directed by Sam Raimi. Deadline exclusively reports Braff will play Frank, a loyal but underappreciated assistant to Oz, played by James Franco. This duo sounds like mischief waiting to happen- and a lot of good behind-the-scenes YouTube videos. The star-studded cast also includes Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz as three witches. The 3D prequel to the classic "The Wizard of Oz" follows the rise of charismatic circus magician turned powerful wizard, Franco's character, after his balloon accidentally lands him in the land of Oz. Hi there, movie buffs, thanks for coming back to clevver movies, I'm Tatiana Carrier and I've got the latest on 'Evil Dead'. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are remaking the horror flick, with 'Panic Attack' director Alvarez at the helm. Weve just learned that 'Juno' writer Diablo Cody is currently revising the script, and we can't wait to see how the cult classic will be reborn. Campell starred in the 1981 original, and Raimi directed the cult classic horror flick, which launched his directing career. Raimi wrote the original screenplay and produced the film with Campbell and Tapert.... So it only makes sense that the producing trio is joining forces once again. The trio released a statement, saying "We can't wait to scare a new generation of moviegoers using filmmaking techniques that were not available to us thirty years ago." If you aren't familiar with the original, it follows a group of five college kids as they vacation in a cabin in the woods and unleash evil spirits. Campbell played a student named Ashley J. Williams, aka Ash. He ended up being the only one to survive, and as the series continued, Ash became a chainsaw-wielding killer of the dead. It hasn't been confirmed if Ash will return for the latest Dead movie or even if Campbell will reprise the role, but we'll be sure to keep you posted. The film is expected to hit theaters in 2013. Whats up guys, Im Tatiana carrier and we have a little score to settle over here at clevver movies...as you guys know there are so many amazing superhero movies coming out in 2012...The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises & The Amazing Spider-Man -- now, the questions isn't whether or not we are excited for these badass movies...the question is...who do YOU think would reign champ in box office AND our movie loving hearts in the battle of the 2012 superheros?! Now, the Avengers JUST released their trailer and Im gonna hve to say, I am most excited about this one. I mean, what beats all your favorite superheros in one place? Oh I know, all your favorite super heros in NYC! And that's exactly what the avengers are all about! Iron Man, played by Robert down junior, Captain America played by chris evans, and Thor played by chris hemsowrth are all recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. to help save the world from annihilation...Black widow played by scarlett johansoon is even in the mix...definitely a movie I am counting down the seconds to seeing....but do you think all these superheroes together on one screen could ever be too much of a good thing? The Amazing Spiderman is also pretty highly anticipated as this is the first spiderman without the spidey genius, sam raimi behind it...tobey mcquire, also gone...so this time around, Andrew garfeild is the web wielding superhero and Marc webb is the brains behind the superhero flick. This new adventure with all new cast and crew promises to focus on the beginings of spider man, and the struggles of peter parker as a teenager. It promises a some romance that the other 2 films will most likely lack, but the question is... is it just too soon for a Spider-Man reboot? I am REALLY looking forward to seeing if Webb can pull of...well...the webb. Last but certainly NOT least is the dark knight rises...The only thing lacking in this one is the appearance of a proper trailer thus far, though weve been sharing set pics... and you have been less than stoked about the cat woman gear sported by anne Hathaway...regardless of the wardrobe disappointment, I am pretty sure the film will be FAR from a disappointment at the box offive. This is the First batman movie in YEARS and Christopher Nolan is a film making master...combine his skills with the talent of Christian bale, Joseph Gordon levitt and miss anne hathway, and I think weve got the recipe for a box office hit. The only question that remains is whether or not Tom Hardy's "Bane" can be as much as a nemesis to our Caped Crusader as the amazing Heath Ledger was as The Joker. He definitely has some huge shoes to fill. So without a doubt all three of these supersized, super hero films will kill it in the box office, but someone always comes out on top...but who will it be? In 5th place with a Worldwide Gross of almost 891 million dollars is the spider man trilogy. Spider-Man 3 was the third a final in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy. It's not only the most successful film in the series worldwide, but also Marvel's most successful film to date. In 4th place is The Pirates of the Caribean with a Worldwide Gross: $963,420,425. The third of Disney's Johnny Depp-starring pirate flicks is currently the most expensive film every made (at about $300 million), but found lots of love overseas. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End had one of the biggest overseas openings of all time. And finally in first place is: Transformers: Dark of the Moon Worldwide Gross: $1,119,241,043 Who needs Megan Fox? Not the Transformers franchise. The third installment, which featured the return of Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro, became the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. Hey guys I'm Tatiana Carrier with the latest on the official release date for the evil dead remake! . Its official, the remake will be released april 12th 2013! So now that we have something solid to look forward to, we can focus on the movie! . For those of you who haven't been keeping up with Evil Dead news, the basic premise of the film stays true to the roots of Sam Raimi's original as it follows a group of friends who hole up in a remote cabin where they discover the "Book of the Dead" and accidentally unleash an unrelenting horde of Deadites. . The remake is going to be more focused on the horror this time around rather than the comedy, which makes sense. After all when Raimi shot the first film he wanted it to be a full blown horror film...so I guess its all really happening now! 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' To Feature Black & White Opening

Hey guys, Tatiana Carrier here with ClevverMovies, your number one source for movie news. Well, as you may have heard, The Wizard of Oz is getting their prequel on the big screen, but it doesn't look like it will be your typical remake. Thank goodness! Joey King sat down with teenspot.com to talk about her roles in Sam Raimi's 'Oz the Great and Powerful', and also told them a little about the structure the new film will be taking. "It's a prequel to 'The Wizard of Oz...It's like the first movie, but this one explains how it all happened, how Oz became Oz, how it led to Dorothy coming." King also lets us know that like the old film, this one will also begin in black and white Kansas and then transition to the colorful world of Oz. Joey claims that working on such a huge project is 'amazing,' but considering that she's comparing that to working on Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises," we might just have to take her word for it. However, with James Franco as Oz and Michelle Williams as Glinda, it looks like Oz the Great and Powerful can't really go wrong. Keep your eye out for this film in March 2013. So were you one of the lucky few to score tickets to the special sneak peek on February 6th?! Hey everyone, thanks for watching clvver movies, Im your host Tatiana carrier with the details behind spidey campaign that went down and what the man behind the mask, Andrew Garfeild has to say about filling tobey mcguires shoes in the newest spidey series!

Sony Pictures launched it's viral campaign for July 3rd's The Amazing Spider-Man over the weekend in several cities around the world by projecting the Spider-Man logo on buildings including the famous Arc de Triumph in Paris and the Opera House in Sydney. The projected image also revealed a web address to the site "TheUntoldStoryBegins.com". Fans that were quick to log into the site were granted access to a special sneak peek of the film that will be held on February 6th.

In addition to this viral campaign, we have the details behind what spidey star Andrew garfeild has to say about taking over the once tobey Maguire led spidey suit...regarding his peter parker character, he said,
"I have tried to explore Peter Parker as an orphan. Orphans, I feel, are the strongest human beings on the planet. The amount of things they have to deal with in their lives, is amazing. I have tried to capture how Peter copes with the feelings of being an underdog, his confusions and his self-doubt . This, I hope, has brought, a certain empathy and sensitivity to his character that explains how it helps him become the hero that he eventually turns out to be."

When talking about taking over the role of Spider-Man from Tobey Maguire, Garfield explained how he watched the previous Sam Raimi films as a fan and what Maguire brought to the role was perfect. He knows his performance will undoubtedly be compared to that of Maguire's, but feels his job is to remain true to the character as best as he can and he's confident that's exactly what he has done.

Whats up spidey fans thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host Tatiana Carrier coming to you from our hollywood headquarters! Well the time has FINALLY come...the trailer for the amazing spiderman has hit the web (look around like a joke)...and of course, we break it down for ya!
0:21 We get a chance to see Peter Parker create his web-shooters. Unlike the original Sam Raimi films that went with a biological webbing as part of his abilities created from the spider bite, director Mark Webb decided to go with the Web-shooters to further show Peter's great scientific mind.
0:44 The appearance of Peter's parents helped give rise to rumors that Spider-Man would be making a cameo appearance in 'The Avengers'. In the comics, his parents were agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 'The Avengers' director has stated that there will be no Spider-Man cameo in 'The Avengers', but will there be a mention of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury or the existence of other superheroes in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'?
0:55 This ID of Peter's father, Richard Parker, having worked at Oscorp in the Genetics Laboratory makes it appear that the filmmakers may be going the way of Ultimate Spider-Man in which his parents are scientists rather than spies. In the comics, Richard Parker creates a biological suit that repairs its host body, which becomes the basis of Venom. Perhaps in this version of the film, Peter creates his Spidey suit from the work of his father?
1:14 Our first look at Lizard. Okay, it's just an arm, but with so little revealed thus far, we have to linger for a bit.
1:17 This guy being attacked by Lizard is actor Irrfan Khan. He plays Dr. Ratha in the film. It was at one time rumored that he would be playing the character of Neils Van Adder who eventually transforms into "Proto-Goblin" in the comics. The actor has denied he is playing "Proto-Goblin", but does say he plays a pivotal role in the film. He could possibly be a villain in a future film, that is if Lizard doesn't get to him first.
1:20 Here we get a close-up look at what we assume is Spider-Man's Web-Shooter. Interesting that it sas gears underneath like a classic wristwatch, but then a high tech electronic device on top. Do you guys prefer the Web-shooter or should they have stuck with the biological webbing like in the Raimi films?
1:27 Another quick look at Lizard, this time his full body, though he is shrouded in darkness.
2:09 Spider-Man battles Lizard on what appears to be the roof of Oscorp. We can see the formula that turned Connors into Lizard. Could he be using it to create a city full of Lizards?

2:17 Is it just us or did they just give away the climax of the movie with Peter Parker stopping Lizard from releasing the formula onto New York City and escaping as the tower collapses? Hopefully this is just their first encounter.

Hey spidey fans thanks for checking back with us at clevver movies, im your host tatiana carrier with the latest on the amazing spiderman.

Fans stood for hours in lines around the block in cities across the world, including Los Angeles and New York to get a glimpse at one of this summer's most anticipated films. Lucky for you Spider-Man fans out there that missed the sneak peeks, I've got the notes...
.
The new trailer was released last night, introducing Captain Stacy and Dr. Curtis Connor, aka The Lizard. Some hints as to Peter's father's 'untold story' are also dropped as well. We didn't get a very good look at the Lizard, but we get to see enough that he is one big bad dude. We are even treated to some of Spidey's brand humor when he advises a car thief not to dress like one.

The simulcast with Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans in cities all over the world was equally informing. When asked by fans what the untold story is, Webb responded that it's about exploring Peter Parker and his parents. Emma Stone differentiated Gwen Stacy from Mary Jane Watson by stating 'Gwen falls in love with Peter Parker, while MJ falls in love with Spider-Man.' Ifans said that The LIzard is different from other Spider-Man villains because 'they're all human, and flawed like Peter, but what makes The Lizard have an emotional presence is his relationship with Peter's dad.' When Garfield was asked what made him want to play Spider-Man, he responded 'because I'm not an idiot.'

Fans at the simulcast were also treated to a 9-minute sizzle reel, with extended scenes from the trailer. Peter Parker wakes up after being bitten by the spider and accidentally smashes his alarm clock and then breaks off a sink handle with his new unknown strength. Dr. Connors gives some exposition by explaining how he is looking for a way to replace his missing arm by regenerating it, much like lizards regenerate their tails.

Even though this reboot of Spider-Man is coming hot on the tails of the last installment by Sam Raimi, the reviews all around seem unanimous that this will be an entirely different film with a deeper and darker sentiment that embodies the depth of the comic books without the comic feel of the previous franchise.
