Christie's Auction House said the December 13-14 sale will follow a global three-month tour that will also includeTaylor's fine art and memorabilia, and will be the first of a series of auctions from the estate of the legendary film star who died in March.
It's being called the greatest private collection of jewelry ever assembled.
The late Rock & roll pioneer Buddy Holly was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (September 07) to celebrate what would have been his 75th birthday. The singer, best known for his hits "That'll Be the Day" and "Peggy Sue," was killed at the age of 22 in a 1959 plane crash that also took the lives of singers Ritchie Valens and "The Big Bopper."
During a career that spanned less than 18 months, the singer charted more than 27 top 40 hits.
Montreal police have arrested a 36-year-old man and charged him with breaking into singer Celine Dion's home. The police say the man, after entering in through a garage, ate some pastries from the refrigerator and then attempted to take a bath. The singer and her family were not home at the time.

Buddy Holly posthumously honored with star

Pioneering rock 'n' roller Buddy Holly posthumously received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (September 7) on the 75th anniversary of his birth.
Holly's widow, Maria Elena Holly, accepted the honor on his behalf in the ceremony in front of the Capitol Records building on Vine Street.
SOUNDBITE Maria Elena Holly saying (English):
"I know Buddy is looking down and saying thanks to all of you, for bestowing this honor."
The 22-year-old Holly was killed, along with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper on Feb. 3, 1959, when the private plane they were on crashed in an Iowa cornfield as they were heading to a perform.
Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers, who played several shows together with Holly, was among those on hand to talk about the late singer.

"He's influenced so many people, it's just unbelievable. And I know everybody is as proud as I am to see this happen finally, it's true."
In the 18 months from when Buddy Holly and the Crickets hit the charts with "That'll be the Day" to his death, Holly had 27 Top 40 hits worldwide.
