Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMovies, I'm your host Tatiana Carrier coming to you from our Hollywood headquarters. Well, as we reported just a few months ago, Ridley Scott is in the works to made a sequel to his 1982 classic 'Blade Runner,' which starred Harrison Ford as a man burnt out on killing androids living illegally on Earth. However, the book on which it was based, Philip K. Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' basically ends where the film ends. So Scott will in fact be taking artistic licence with these characters.
.
When the sequel was confirmed, Scott said that it would move forward, 'without the past cast, of course.' Judging by your comments on that video, it seemed like most of you were glad that Ford would not be returning as Deckard in the sequel.
.
But then again, what would a sequel to Blade Runner really be without Deckard??
.
Well, Twitchfilm.com has reported that Harrison Ford has actually entered early talks to join the new Blade Runner. Excited? Well, these are still the early stages of negotiation, so who knows if this will actually pan out. But the important part is, Ford and Scott are considering it!
.
You can check out the story by clicking the link below. We'll keep you updated as more details come up, but in the meantime, what do you think? Will Harrison Ford really return as Deckard? Or if not, who should replace him? Or should the sequel go in a different direction entirely? Let us know by commenting below, and make sure you hit the subscribe button to stay updated on all the latest movie news. Thanks again for watching! I'll see ya next time!

Hey guys, thanks for checking back with ClevverMovies, I'm Tatiana Carrier. Well, remember how we told you guys that Harrison Ford was in talks to recreate his role of Deckard in the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner?' Just kidding!
.
According to Deadline.com, the co-producer of the upcoming sequel is adamantly denying the rumor that we were all so excited about. Andrew Kosove of Alcon Entertainment said "It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in 'Blade Runner...The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment.'

Kosove also said that Scott's upcoming 'Prometheus' is a good template for what the 'Blade Runner' sequel might be like, as a stand-alone film with an association to the original.
.
While Kosove said that there could be a possibility of Ford returning, the fact is that they are not far along enough in the planning and writing process to really even consider it.
.
So what do you guys think? Should Harrison Ford return for the 'Blade Runner' sequel, even if only for a cameo or should they just start fresh with a completely new storyline? Let us know what you think by commenting below. As always, thanks for tuning in, and I'll see you guys next time.
Best Science Fiction Movies: Top 5 Tuesday

Hey everyone thanks so much for tuning back into clevver movies, Im Tatiana Carrier with your top 5 Tuesday! With the release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D this Friday we countdown the top 5 sci/fi films of all time!
.
Coming in at 5. The Matrix---
The Matrix was just the kick in the pants the sci-fi genre needed. It combined sci-fi, action and introduced the groundbreaking bullet time effect. Though the technology ended up being overused in just about every commercial made since the film's release and two crap-tastic sequels followed, the film was the perfect swan song to the 20th century.
Aliens comes in 4th place---
Though many would probably select Ridley Scott's 'Alien' in the top 5, James Cameron's sequel 'Aliens' was simply, in our opinion, a more entertaining movie. Less horror and more action, the film pits Sigourney Weaver's Ripley against the mother of all aliens as she and a crew of Colonial Marines try to discover what happened to the colonists who have settled the planet where Ripley and the crew of the Nostromo first encountered the aliens.

3rd place goes to The Empire Strikes Back ---- Here's another sequel that trumps the original. Though Star Wars was a huge box office success when released in 1977 and has spawned countless sequels, tv shows, books and video games, The Empire Strikes back is just an all-around better movie. It's questionably one of the greatest sequels ever made. From the battle on Hoth to Luke's inevitable confrontation with Darth Vader, the film gives the original character's real depth and introduces new characters like Yoda, Lando Calrissian and Boba Fett. Plus, how many summer blockbusters these days let the bad guys win?

Coming in a close second, is 2001: A Space Odyssey---- Stanley Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey' is not only considered one of the greatest sci-films of all time, but also one of the greatest films of all time. Period. The film influenced the later works of such pioneers as Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
.
And finally last but certainly not least, Blade Runner comes in the top spot on our countdown! ---- Blade Runner was a commerical and critical flop when it was first released back in 1982. Surprising considering it stars Harrison Ford during the height of his popularity, with the the film releasing right between Raiders of the Lost Ark and Return of the Jedi. The film finally got the recognition it deserves and became a cult hit with the introduction of the home video market. Though there have been seven versions of the film with significant changes to the storytelling, Ridley Scott's "The Final Cut" was released in 2007 and the director has called the film his most complete and personal film. A sequel is planned with Scott returning to direct.
.
So there ya have it, the top 5 sci fi flicks of all time! Make sure you chime in below and let us know what you thought of our list and if we missed anything! While your at it, make sure you subscribe to clevver movies for more fun filled top 5 Tuesdays! Thanks so much for watching, ill see ya next time!

Hey everyone I'm Tatiana carrier & I am Matt Jones coming to you from our Hollywood headquarters, and you are watching reel cap----a break down the top stories in the world of movies this week! I gotta say, this week was all about Spidey!!! So our first big story--- the amazing spiderman hits the WEB!!!
.
TAT: Lots to see in the spiderman trailer, pretty different from that high level teaser we got a glimpse of earlier...this time the mystery lies in the LIZARD!!! We got a chance to check him out and also got a more in depth look at our peter parker... hes got web shooters, jokes, and GWEN STACY...I mean, what more could a teenager want?
.
MATT: Well, we all know that Joseph Gordon-Levitt can act, sing, and dance, so his next move shouldn't really be a big surprise. JGL has written the script for a sexy comedy feature about a modern-day Don Juan and his quest to become less of a selfish person. Scarlett Johansson is already set to co-star, and there is another female lead yet to be filled. Maybe TATS CAN audition???
.
Tat: ehh...IN OTHER CASTING NEWS! We THOUGHT that Harrison Ford was in talks to recreate his role of Deckard in the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner,...but now we hear, NOT SO MUCH...atleast YET! ' Director Ridley Scott told EW that they are too early in the development of the project to know whether or not the film will be a prequel or a sequel, let alone who will star, but he hasn't ruled out the possibility of Harrison Ford returning as "Deckard". -- "I'm not sure that that's going to be a story point, so I don't know. But if it were, nothing would please me more. Honestly."---- I say he comes back!!!
.
MATT: something that IS on our minds...,the highly-anticipated franchise sequel, The Wolverine, appears to be back on track and now has an official release date of July 26, 2013!!! The Wolverine will be directed by James Mangold and will follow up 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and finds Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers and Silver Samurai.
Ridley Scott Talks Prometheus/Alien Connection

Ridley scott talks prometheus/alien connection! Hey guys thanks so much for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host Tatiana carrier with the latest on prometheus!

As you guys know, director Ridley Scott was in the process of working on a prequel to his hit 1979 sci-fi classic Alien. Through the development process, what was meant to be a straight prequel, soon turned into something very much different and scott let us in on the fact that would be more of a spin-off, with a few ideas that tie into his past work, and the Alien franchise as a whole.

So far, the trailers released have offered a few hints as to how Prometheus ties into Alien, including a look at what appears to be the alien pilot dubbed the "Space Jockey" from the first film. But now scott made a statement that may have spoiler written all over it...heres what he said, "When the first Alien movie and Blade Runner were made, I thought that in the near future the world will be owned by large companies. This is why we have the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner, and Weyland-Yutani in Alien. They sent the Nostromo spaceship.

The Prometheus is owned by an entrepreneur called Peter Weyland, and is played by Guy Pearce. That's the connection between the two films, and nothing more. Prometheus is a new film, a new world, and is full of new ideas. And of course new monsters as well."

That's A LOT OF info, but do you believe Scott that that will be the only connection between the two films or do you think he's just trying to throw us off? Let us know in the comment section below and be sure to keep it locked right here on clevver movies, your number one source for movie news!

More clues on Prometheus coming your way! Hey guys thanks so much for tuning bak into clevver movies, im your host Tatiana carrier with more updates from promethues.

Yesterday director Ridley Scott revealed that the only link between his 1979 hit Alien and his upcoming Prometheus would be the appearance of Guy Pearce's character, Peter Weyland. As many of you know, Weyland was one half of the corporation that Sigourney Weaver's "Ripley" and her fellow crewmates were working for in the original film.

With a newly released promo video from the nonprofit organization TED, we are now getting our first look at Guy Pearce as "Peter Weyland", the head of the corporation that owns the Prometheus spaceship in the upcoming film. In the promo, Weyland addresses a crowd at the 2023 TED conference to discuss his plans to develop the first convincingly humanoid robotic systems. The promo was conceived by Ridley Scott with the film's writer and executive producer Damon Lindelof and was directed by Scott's son, Luke.

The promo was made especially for TED and is not something that will be in the actual film, but will rather server as a form of viral marketing. As for why the promo was created for TED, Lindelof explained saying, "l'll write this thing, and we'll put it in front of you guys, and if you think it's cool, we would love to platform it at TED...I thought it could be mutually beneficial ? as opposed to overtly cram-it-down-your-face viral marketing, which I don't think anyone wanted to do."

So what do you think of the promo? You guys can see the video by checking out our blog! The Avengers are changing their focus! As you guys know, The Avengers have been said to be led by Steve Rogers aka captain America, but joss whedon is saying, not true and that the flick we are expecting may be very different then what we actually see.

Recently at sxsw Joss Whedon chatted about the ensemble superhero flick and he told total film that despite what we think, the story will not be told from just caps perspective. Referring to our specuialtion of chris evans telling the story, he said, "In the final cut that's probably not true...There was stuff with Cap I cut out. Although he has an 'in' with the audience in that this world is stranger to him, so he's an identification figure."

He went on to discuss a potential sequel. He said he wants to avoid Iron Man 2 syndrome, where the story's reduced to a series of sequel-pointers. He said, "We DO give a nod to a greater problem than the one solved in this film...I'm a great believer in the idea that if you make the first one to be a 'first one,' then you have already failed...As much as we want to service the idea of a film in a franchise, I want this to be a satisfying film experience. I don't want people to go out saying, "When's the next part?" I want people to say, "Oh, I want to see that again!"

As for his inspiration for the film, Whedon said he initially looked to the classic The Dirty Dozen since it's a similar theme of a large group that must spend a good portion of the film training in order to take on a powerful foe, but it was Ridley Scott's 'Black Hawk Down' that really "unlocked" the film for him saying what The Avengers really needed to be was a war movie that would put the heroes through what he called a "meat grinder".

Are you guys hoping that the story is in fact told from steve rogers perspective? Let us know in the comment section below and be sure to keep it locked right here on clevver movies your number one source for movie news. Im Tatiana carrier thanks so much for watching!
