Ready for the numbers? Jay-Z made a whopping total of $37 million dollars in the last 12 months, and Diddy isn't far behind him with a salary of $35 million for the year. There's a slight dip down to the number 3 spot, occupied by Kanye West with $16 million. Not bad. Forbes writes, "Fueled by the tail end of his 'Blueprint 3' Tour and a vast portfolio of business interests, Jay-Z barely edged second-ranked Diddy-who raked in $35 million, roughly half of that total coming from a lucrative partnership with Ciroc vodka-but handily topped West. But head of branding firm Translation Steve Stout says it's all about Jay and 'Ye these days. He explained, "Jay-Z and Kanye are hip-hop ambassadors. They bring the art form around the world, and they've taken production and everything to the next level. Now they've got a chance to grow with their global audience." Yep, he beat out big dogs like Lil Wayne who came in second, and Drake, who came in third. Kind of surprising that Jay-Z and Kanye weren't in the top three, right? But they came in 4th and 5th respectively. So the way RS came to their conclusions when ranking the hip moguls, they took into effect album sales, chart rankings, YouTube views, concert grosses, and more. All of these categories were only measured during the period spanning from 2009 through the first seven months of 2011. As for Em, the mag said, More than half of Eminem's 7.5 million in sales were taken by Recovery. Now past four million copies in the U.S. alone, Recovery was the best-selling album, period, of 2010. Now obviously these rankings always stir up a little controversy?remember when they crowned Gaga the Queen of Pop, it didn't exactly go over that well with everybody. So she newcomer sat down with MTV News to clear up the controversy, and said, "I've never, ever intentionally dissed anybody my whole career, and I don't do that personally with friends either. Well it was a scary day for Rick Ross. According to TMZ, he was on a flight to Memphis today when he had a sudden seizure and lost consciousness. The plan was forced to make an emergency landing, and CPR was immediately performed on him. He did regain consciousness and was taken to a nearby hospital. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor. Sources from his camp have spoken to the media and said he's now completely fine. Ross also wrote a tweet after the incident, so we can assume everything's going to be fine.
