Nathan Fillion Joins 'Percy Jackson' Sequel

It was announced last year that a sequel to Percy Jackson & The Olympians would be hitting theaters on March 26th, 2013 and now the Hollywood reporter has reveaed that Nathan Fillion, star of ABC's Castle and the cult favorite Firefly and its big screen film Serenity has joined on to star as Hermes in Fox 2000's sequel Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monster. The flick is based on the second book in Rick Riordan's best-selling young-adult book series. Fillion will be taking on the role of "Hermes", a role played by Dylan Neal in the original film.

We are pretty stoked about this second outing for percy Jackson considering the first title in the franchise, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, grossed $226.5 million at the worldwide box office in 2010. Chris Columbus, who directed Lightning Thief, is producing the Percy Jackson sequel with Karen Rosenfelt.
