It was Modern Songs night last night on American Idol! Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. Now for the most part, the top 7 on Idol put on impressive performances, with Joshua Ledet even getting a standing ovation for his rendition of Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby"
Now, since all the song choices had to be songs from the last three years, perhaps it was the familiarity that borught out the performers best.... for example Elise Testone's take on Lady Gaga's "You and I" that had Randy Jackson claiming she was back in the game!
Other standout performances include Jessica Sanchez's wow-worthy performance of Jazmine Sullivan's "Stuttering"....
Yeah, amazing voice, only 16 years old!
And definitely gotta praise Skylar Laine's country crooning on Kellie Pickler's "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You"
As a personal fan of Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie" - I couldnt help but get excited to see one of the perfomers take on a fave of mine, and Colton Dixon did just that.
But not EVERYONE got love from the judges. Phillip Phillips did a rendition of Maroon 5's "Give a Little More"....
And maybe he should have given a little more, as JLo called it a bit underwhelming.
Then there's Hollie Cavanagh whose take on Pink's song "Perfect" well, wasn't perfect.

Well, Warner Bros. Interactive announced today that Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings "Enhanced Edition" will hit the Xbox 360 next week on April 17th.
As if we're not already excited enough, the game has already begun receiving praise from many top gaming outlets. Game features include: hack n' slash and magical combat, weapons variety, & content that's so mature.. your parents will be purchasing the game for themselves!
And if that's not enough, The 360 version comes with a new quest, chapter-end cinematics, & new cut scenes. In addition to all that, it also comes with a separate book that walks through all of the quests in the game.
Like I said before, Witcher 2 releases next week on Tuesday April 17th. But, in the meantime if you're in the mood for some medieval ass-kicking and fornicating, check out this new trailer CD Project launched today and let me know what you think in the comments below! The top 3 on American Idol performed 3 songs each last night, and visited their hometowns! Hey guys, you're watching ClevverMusic. American Idol last night was filled with praise from the judges and lots of great quotes from Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler. The top 3 remaining contestants- Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, and Phillp Phillips, each sang a song picked by the judges, a song they chose, and a song mentor Jimmy Iovine chose for them. We saw them visit hometowns and be bombarded by crazed fans, and we even saw Phillip get a little emotional over it- which we liked.
Owning the first round of Judge's choice songs was Phillip Phillips who sang Madcon's 'Beggin''. Steven Tyler said once Phillip writes his own songs, he'll be a "new age boss", as in Bruce Springsteen, which is a HUGE compliment.
Dominating the second round of performances chosen by the contestants themselves was Jessica Sanchez who made the ballsy choice of picking Aerosmith's 'I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing.' Normally Steven Tyler hates it when people sing his songs, but on this one he couldn't have been happier. Steven commented, "You just took a great song and made it greater." WOW.
In the last round of Jimmy Iovine picks, we have to hand it to Joshua Ledet, who danced around and sang Mary J. Blige's "No Drama" Steven Tyler commented that he had just felt the last 40 years of the music business... and we think that's a compliment!

Taylor Swift Donates $4M to Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum

Taylor Swift donates 4-million dollars! Bless her heart for consistently giving back and sharing her success with others. This round, the star has chosen something that's close to her heart: The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. We hear via The Hollywood Reporter that it's the largest gift given to the museum by an artist ever and apparently the 4-million bucks is set to go toward building the Taylor Swift Education Center, an exhibit and classroom to open in 2014. There are plans for a musical petting zoo, a music-inspired art room -- maybe for making concert posters as well as programs for teens and seniors. In fact, the report lays out that this is just one part of a 75-million dollar expansion for the Country Music Hall of Fame and this location's plaza is where TS made one of her her first public appearances and where she officially signed her record contract.
