Tony Bennett is celebrating his 85th birthday today, and not only did he get a special birthday message from Lady Gaga, but he also announced some really cool news. The musical icon told the Today Show that he intends on releasing a duet he did Amy Winehouse as a single for charity. Tony and Amy collaborated on the track Body and Soul, which marks the last known recording before her death last month. He said, "What's going to happen is that we're putting that out ahead of the album.And it's going to a foundation that her father started to teach all the young children not to take drugs, and all the royalties of the record will go to that." Tony added, "That's right, that was the last record she made. It was great. She sang beautifully." The album Bennett is referring to is the follow-up to his 2006 release, Duet: An American Classic, entitled Duets 2. It's set for a Sept. 20 release on Columbia Records, and will also feature duets with Mariah Carey, Michael Buble and Norah Jones.Pretty amazing news, and we love the fact that the proceeds of the Tony-Amy duet will go to such a special charity.
