Taz was a panelist with fellow urban music innovators moderated by Quincy "QD3" Jones III. It is extremely instructive to learn how artists are embracing digital media with great success. Last week, we interviewed Chamillionaire. Taz has an extraordinary career as a performer and producer for artists including Mos Def, Erykah Badu and Herbie Hancock. He has produced and performs in this incredible Obama fan music video. Isn't his wardrobe awesome? I love the sunglasses! He filled me in on his growing work in fashion design including his own accessory line and work for the venerable leather fashion house MCM. I shot this interview with my NokiaN95. -- Andy Plesser

I am a big fan of freestyle rap, especially when the people featured can actually flow. This video features Mos Def and Jin. It also features a hilariously racist verse by Sterling. I am Indian myself, but I find racism rather funny as long as it is done in a original way.

With the tragic news of Amy Winehouse's untimely death, all her fans want to do is listen to her music, watch her videos, and do anything to remember the great talent she was. Well, MTV has announced they'll be airing a special dedicated to Winehouse this week. The network has announced they'll air an intimate performance from her that was taped back in 2007 right before she hit superstardom. Amy performed for a small crowd at Times Square for the series 45th at Night with her backing band The Dap-Kings. She played hits like "Rehab," "Back to Black," "Me & Mr. Jones" and "You Know I'm No Good." A collaboration between Winehouse and Mos Def on the song "Love Is a Losing Game" will also be included in the broadcast. So make sure to tune into MTV this Wednesday July 27, at 6:30 p.m. eastern and pacific for this special tribute.
