Thomas McDonell Talks Upcoming 'Dark Shadows' Role

We just had the chance to catch up with one of Hollywood most-talked-about up and coming actors, Thomas McDonell. His first big project, "Prom," hits theaters in just a few weeks, but he's already landed a few more very big roles, including one where he'll play a younger version of Johnny Depp's character Barnabas in Tim Burton's upcoming "Dark Shadows." IT's a huge opportunity for Thomas who's already gotten tons of Johnny Depp comparisons, which of course is quite the compliment. Here's what Thomas told us about the new gig: For the record, not only will Thomas be working with the legendary Johnny Depp -- Tim Burton duo, he also joins a cast that includes Chloe Moretz, Michelle Pfeiffer and many others. First up, we learned that Chuck Norris had some pretty hefty demands for Sly Stallone if he was going to be a part of the expendables 2...and im not talking red vines and gummy coke bottles....he went PG 13 on our asses! Oh yes, he demanded the gritty expendables 2 take a more "clean" approach...and get this, SLY gave Norris exactly what he asked for...and judging by your reactions, your not too happy about this move by Norris. I AGREE. . In better news, we learned that Deadpool is in fact MOVING FOWWARD!!! Oh yeaaa!!! But now the big question is, will they take the wolverine origins angle with deadpool, or stick to the NOT classic sewed up mouth, ryan Reynolds deadpool...we think they should scrap and start over...but what about you?! . We also learned that George Lucas was retiring...not all together...but from big blockbusters like star wars and his most recent flick red tails that is out TODAY. Insert star wars joke here . We also got some scoop on The Amazing Spider Man! Im talking Gwen stacy and peter parker style!!! Marc webb promised fans this releationship will be better than any we are used to...we are wondering what can top an upside kiss in the rain, but Im sure Emma and Andrew can improvise ;) . And finally, we got two really awesome looks: Two new photos from Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows' featuring Johnny Depp as Barnabus Collins and Michelle Pfeiffer. Just a little tease before we finally get to see a full trailer for the film which hits theaters May 11th. We also got a final poster for 'The Hunger Games' featuring leading lady, Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer LAwrance! 'The Hunger Games' hits theaters March 23rd . Ha le un unghie lunghe, i canini, la pelle pallida e le labbra rosso sangue, ma Johnny Depp è un vampiro tutto da ridere. L'attore torna protagonista del nuovo film di Tim Burton "Dark Shadows", attesissimo dai fan del duo cinematografico e basato sull'omonima soap anni '60, famosa negli Stati Uniti ma praticamente sconosciuta in Italia, che narra le avventure imprevedibili del vampiro Barnabas Collins con fantasmi, lupi mannari, streghe e altre creature mostruose, che un po' ricordando la simpatica e gotica famiglia Addams. L'attore si mette a testa in giù come un pipistrello, esce da una bara, va in cerca di sangue e si lascia sedurre dalle belle donne ma come in ogni favola dark del regista c'è l'elemento divertente e inquietante che lo rende unico, quel tocco di cattiveria e allo stesso tempo di commedia con una storia di vendetta, gelosia e ossessioni raccontata con cinismo e ironia. Depp è un vampiro fuori dal tempo catapultato in nuovo mondo in cui è un pesce fuor d'acqua, circondato da attrici famose come Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Moretz e Michelle Pfeiffer che lo manderanno completamente in tilt.

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth's ne'er-do-well brother, Roger Collins, (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David's new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.
