Party Party Party! - Maxfield School Metal Band
Carl Powers (lead singer with the "Looney Bin Jazz Band" from Cleveland/USA) and "The Maxfield School Metal Band" live in Maxfield on August 2011. On the drums with that occasion: my young nephew Danny Stanton-Reade (13) himself! A "Metallica" and "Guns'n Roses" fan from his earliest days! I believe he was only 7 or 8 years old when first I heard "Nothing else matters" and "Knockin' on heaven's door" coming from the big two hifi-loudspeakers of his own small room at home already while still being far away in the street myself (with the noise of some starting jumbo jet or something very close to it at least like I still can remember very well!). Part 1 of a whole serious of music video clips I wrote and produced about ?Maxfield Town?, famous ?Town of the Kids? (unfortunately only fictional up till now, dear kids, who might be living just everywhere upon the earth while reading this maybe only by accident!).

Well, the VMAs are almost upon us! With just a few days til the big show, we're all left wondering what all the celebs are going to show up wearing...especially Lady Gaga! In honor of the wacky fashions the VMA always brings out each year, we're breaking down our top 5 craziest VMA fashions ever! Coming in at #5 is Macy Gray. In 2001, she was the epitome of shameless self-promotion, wearing a long blue dress that read: My New Album drops September 18th, 2001, with the back reading, Buy it! We're accustomed to rappers doing this kind of thing, but we hope whomever suggested Macy do this was fired the next day. The album majorly underperformed on the charts too?much like that fashion faux pas. Our #4 pick is Howard Stern, who dressed as Fartman during the 1992 show, a character he started using back in the 80s. He didn't make many friends with this alter-ego, famously interrupting Metallica during their acceptance speech. So technically, Howard is the original Kanye! Britney Spears gets our #3 pick. She definitely looked her best ever in 2001 when she took the stage wearing little else but a python during her Slave 4 U performance. And she just gets props for shaking around a stage with such a frightening co-star around her neck. The #2 pick goes to Lil Kim. In 1999, she showed up wearing a one-shoulder purple jumpsuit, exposing her left boob that was just covered by a pasty. It was definitely shocking for the times, and would have thought that 12 years later, jumpers would be all the rage on the runways! And our number 1 spot goes to.....you guessed it, Lady Gaga! Her meat dress at last year's show has proven to be the wildest most outrageous get-up in VMA history. And it's the outfit that keeps on giving, since it's since been preserved to sit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So that does it for our top 5 wacky fashions. Metallica i/m??tæl?k?/ is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1981 when James Hetfield responded to an advertisement that drummer Lars Ulrich had posted in a local newspaper. The current line-up features long-time lead guitarist Kirk Hammett (who joined the band in '83) and bassist Robert Trujillo (a member since 2003) alongside Hetfield and Ulrich. Previous members of the band are lead guitarist Dave Mustaine (who went on to found the band Megadeth), and bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted. The band also had a long collaboration with producer Bob Rock, who produced all of its albums from 1990 to 2003 and served as a temporary bassist between the departure of Newsted and the hiring of Trujillo.
Metallica's early releases included fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed the band as one of the founding "big four" of thrash metal alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax.The band earned a growing fan-base in the underground music community and critical acclaim, with its third album Master of Puppets ('86) described as one of the most influential and "heavy" thrash metal albums. Metallica achieved substantial commercial success with their eponymous fifth album (also known as The Black Album), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. With this release the band expanded its musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience.
In 2000, Metallica was among a number of artists who filed a lawsuit against Napster for sharing the band's copyright-protected material for free without any band member's consent.A settlement was reached, and Napster became a pay-to-use service. Despite reaching number one on the Billboard 200, the release of St. Anger (2003) alienated many fans with the exclusion of guitar solos and the "steel-sounding" snare drum.

Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning ('83?'84)
In May '83, Metallica traveled to Rochester, N.Y. to record its debut album, Metal Up Your Ass, with production duties handled by Paul Curcio.Band members decided to kick Mustaine out of the band due to drug and alcohol abuse and violent behavior just prior to the sessions on April 11,'83.Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammett flew in to replace Mustaine the same afternoon.
Mustaine, who went on to found Megadeth, has expressed his dislike for Hammett in interviews. He said Hammett "stole my job. Mustaine was "pissed off" because he believes Hammett became popular by playing the guitar leads that Mustaine wrote. In a '85 interview with Metal Forces, Mustaine slammed Hammett saying, "it's real funny how Kirk Hammett ripped off every lead break I'd played on that No Life 'til Leather tape and got voted No. 1 guitarist in your magazine.On Megadeth's debut album Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! ('85), Mustaine included the song "Mechanix", which Metallica reworked and retitled "The Four Horsemen" on Kill 'Em All. Mustaine said he did this to "straighten Metallica up", as Metallica referred to Mustaine as a drunk and said he could not play guitar.Metallica's first live performance with Hammett was on April 16,'83 at the nightclub The Showplace in Dover, New Jersey.
The band's debut studio album was initially going to be titled Metal Up Your Ass. Due to conflicts with its record label and the distributors' refusal to release an album with that name, it was renamed Kill 'Em All. Released on Megaforce Records in the United States and Music for Nations in Europe, the album peaked at number 120 on the Billboard 200 in'88,and although the album was not initially a financial success, it earned Metallica a growing fan base in the underground metal scene. The band embarked on the Kill 'Em All for One tour with Raven to support the release.In Feb. '84
