Advice for unsigned bands from Maximo Park front man, Paul Smith. Paul is the front man of Maximo Park, a band which formed in newcastle in 2000. After non-stop gigging and making 300 copies of their first single on a tight budget in 2004, they got signed by Warp Records. In 2005 they quickly rose to Indie fame with their debut album ?A Certain Trigger?. This was hailed by critics as one of the best releases of the year and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. This all led to an increasingly devoted fan base in the UK. They have also played at Glastonbury, were headliners for the NME Awards Tour in 2006 and supported The Police earlier this year. In April they released their second album, Our Earthly Pleasuresí which reached Number 2 in the UK Album Charts.
