Top 5 Craziest VMA Fashions Ever
http://on.fb.me/loxDu6 - Facebook Fan Page! http://bit.ly/ClevverMusic - Click to Subscribe to ClevverMusic! Hey guys, you're watching ClevverMusic, and I'm your host Bridget Daly. Well, the VMAs are almost upon us! With just a few days til the big show, we're all left wondering what all the celebs are going to show up wearing...especially Lady Gaga! In honor of the wacky fashions the VMA always brings out each year, we're breaking down our top 5 craziest VMA fashions ever! Coming in at #5 is Macy Gray. In 2001, she was the epitome of shameless self-promotion, wearing a long blue dress that read: My New Album drops September 18th, 2001, with the back reading, Buy it! We're accustomed to rappers doing this kind of thing, but we hope whomever suggested Macy do this was fired the next day. The album majorly underperformed on the charts too?much like that fashion faux pas. Our #4 pick is Howard Stern, who dressed as Fartman during the 1992 show, a character he started using back in the 80s. He didn't make many friends with this alter-ego, famously interrupting Metallica during their acceptance speech. So technically, Howard is the original Kanye! Britney Spears gets our #3 pick. She definitely looked her best ever in 2001 when she took the stage wearing little else but a python during her Slave 4 U performance. And she just gets props for shaking around a stage with such a frightening co-star around her neck. The #2 pick goes to Lil Kim. In 1999, she showed up wearing a one-shoulder purple jumpsuit, exposing her left boob that was just covered by a pasty. It was definitely shocking for the times, and would have thought that 12 years later, jumpers would be all the rage on the runways! And our number 1 spot goes to.....you guessed it, Lady Gaga! Her meat dress at last year's show has proven to be the wildest most outrageous get-up in VMA history. And it's the outfit that keeps on giving, since it's since been preserved to sit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So that does it for our top 5 wacky fashions. Can Gaga outdo her meat dress this Sunday? Tune in August 28th at 9pm to find out! Comment below on which of these five is your fave! See you guys soon, thanks for watching clevverMusic.

PRESENTED BY JON RAY

The Live Lights was formed in 2008 when Adam Khatib and Bryan Higginbotham, who had met years back, agreed to start up a new project. Victor Montemayor and Martin Rios joined shortly after, and instantly began their musical excursion performing in Houston.

Bonded over a shared ambition to rock the foundation of indie-rock music, The Live Lights
posses the unique ability to whip the stage up entirely befitting the beat-driven hearts and souls of indie-rock fans. Their dynamic songs are full of dramatic emotion and moving layers that can be felt from start to finish. The Live Lights are a four-way operation. Contributions by all members help to define the sound that is The Live Lights. "A blend of different music backgrounds woven together like your favorite blanket," says Rios.

Since inception, The Live Lights have built a strong and faithful following and have rattled audiences in the Houston and Texas region with their live performances and unique style. Playing shows with national and international acts including Peter Hook (New order/Joy Division), Datarock, Esser, Ruben Wu(Ladytron), Young the Giant and more, have helped The Live Lights reach out to a much broader fan base. Other achievements include performances @ Indieweek Fest 2010 in Canada, & Ghoulsfest 2010 with Macy Gray, We are Scientists, Bad Brains, and many more.

The band is influenced by artists from all genres including The Killers, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Beatles, Ours, New Order, and many more.

The band's second CD was released in the spring of 2011 and is a compilation of songs with a modish blend of electronics, angular guitar work, a la mode drumming, and lucid vocals. A refreshing sign of growth and depth in the song writing is apparent as The Live Lights continue to fine tune their sound and direction. The new CD includes three new tracks produced by Matt Novesky of Blue October.

Macy Gray covers up for new ablum
After scoring a Grammy and selling 15 million albums worldwide, soul singer Macy Gray took a break from the music scene.

But now she's back and she's taking her unique raspy voice in a new direction.

For Gray's sixth album "Covered" the singer put her own spin on 10 of her favorite songs.

SOUNDBITE: Macy Gray, singer, saying:

"I came up with this idea to do covers of famous rock songs, modern ones, because I figured if I did a solo album of R&B, everyone would expect that already, and it turns out I'm a huge rock and roll fan anyway, so I just picked ten of my favorite songs, then we went in and totally redid them, it was pretty awesome, it was a great, great experience, we had a ball."

While Gray names Lady Gaga, Wiz Khalifa and The Black Keys as some of the artists she admires, Kanye West is the one person she's eager to work with.

SOUNDBITE: Macy Gray, singer, saying:

"As an artist, he has some really great things to say about his perspective on things, and I like his personality, I like his arrogance. I think the world needs people like that, that aren't scared to say what's for real, how they really feel, you know."

Gray's new album hit shelves the first week of April.
