Universal Pictures Drops Hasbro's 'Clue' Movie

Hey guys, thanks for checking back with clevver movies, Im Tatiana carrier and Ive got the latest on the CLUE game gone movie. Its looking like the game will remain, just that as Universal has DROPPED the prospect of Taking the Hasbro game to the big screen. According to deadline, Universal Pictures has quietly dropped out of Clue, one of the seven Hasbro games properties the studio contracted to make into movies in a ground-breaking six-year exclusive deal signed in 2008. Clue becomes the third project out of seven to be dropped by Universal ---- Monopoly and Magic, The Gathering were also kicked to the curb. Hasbro will STILL be funding the development of the CLUE project and director Gore Verbinski is still planning to direct the movie that will keep the murder mystery spirit of the board game however in this version, they will take the mystery out of the mansion and take it GLOBAL! Also, this may have been before your time but there was a 1985 'Clue' movie starring Tim Curry and Christopher Lloyd that featured multiple endings, so its been done before and we are confident that Hasbro will figure it out one way or another! We already know that this movie storyline surrounds the biggest night for a group of highschoolers, but we learn in the new 2-minute sneak peek that "every couple has its story." Disney breaks it down for us, starting with Jesse and Nova. J's been getting in trouble and he must help N organize the Starry Night Prom, and it seems like a forced relationship might turn into a crush scenario. Then Lucas is ready to seal the deal with Simone, who catches him in a compromising situation doing a bad-breath test with his friend before chatting her up. Then there's the standard Prom King and Queen, Jordan and Tyler, the seemingly picture-perfect couple. And lastly, the trailer shows Lloyd and ???. He's busy attempting to find someone to ask to the dance and it's disaster after disaster -- getting called a serial killer for an anonymous letter and then not completing the task when a truck rips off his big sign for a girl on an overpass. Poor Lloyd. The trailer and new pics are so exciting as they take all of us through the whole process, from getting asked or having to do the asking, shopping for a fabulous dress or tux, prepping for the big night and then hopefully making the perfect Prom memories to last a lifetime.
