Hey guys, Im taitana carrier and its looking like mortal Kombat may be once again heading to the silver screen! Thanks to our friends at the hollywood reporter, weve just learned that New Line is hiring the filmmakers of the popular Mortal Kombat digital series, to take on a new adaptation of the classic 1990s fighting game. Kevin Tancharoen, a choreographer for Madonna and Britney Spears directed the 2009 remake of Fame and more recently the Glee concert movie, directed a short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth as a proof of concept for a Kombat movie. Now this short got quite a bit of buzz, it was viewed more than 10 million times on YouTube, and although no movie deal materialized, he was asked to direct the 10-episode web series, which debuted in April, attracting more than 15 million unique visitors. So in the end, kevin will direct the new movie, oren uziel will write it, and there are no actors attached just yet. AS we get more details we will be sure to keep you guys posted!
