What's up guys, Im Tatiana Diana with Clevver Movies and Ive got the latest on Thor 2! Yes, you heard me correctly, Thor 2 is REALLY happening, so much so, that we even have a release date also! But first, the details! Marvel studios has officially committed to Thor 2 with Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as my hunky hero. Yea, I did just say MY... a girl can dream right? Chris is one of my favorite up and coming actors who took the world by storm this year with his breakthrough performance in the original Thor. Since then, Hemsworth has been asked to be in several movies including "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Shadowrunner" so it comes as no surpise to me that Marvel is once again investing in the talented Australian actor. The pen for the script will be in the hands of Don Payne, one of the credited scribes on the first film. Payne rewrote Lobo for Warner Bros, and was one of the writers on Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer Director Kenneth Branagh won't be returning to flick with no word yet on who will direct. Disney will release Thor 2 July 26, 2013 right before 'Iron Man 3' coming out May 3, 2013...both flicks coming out after the events of "the Avengers" which is currently in production and will hit theatres May 4th of 2012. Thor has been on big screens in USA for less than a day and is already seeing incredible numbers at the box office. ClevverTV has the dollar report right now. You're back at ClevverTV -- Hello everyone. I'm Joslyn Davis Hollywood with word on what most people are calling this weekend's must-watch movie, Thor. Thor, which boasts a cast, crew and creative team that boasts the likes of Anthony Hopkins, Kenneth Branagh, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and the legendary Stan Lee, just to name a few, has already seen successful releases in other parts of the globe. And, it looks like the hot streak for the flick will continue here in the states. The movie opened on Thursday night, or actually Friday morning at 12 am in just 1800 locations. However, it already grossed 3.3 million dollars. When you consider the fact that the number of theaters this weekend that will be showing the film will jump to close to 4000, well, I think it's safe to say that Thor could take one of, if not the top spot at the box office. Aside from the cast and the fact that Thor is a marvel icon, the movie has also garnered stellar reviews. So do you plan to see Thor this weekend or do you have something else in mind? Hey guys, thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Your number one source for movie news! I'm your host, Tatiana carrier with the latest on Thor 2 and the director who has just exited the highly antedated sequel! . Patty Jenkins, best known for directing Monster, was the first female director for marvel studios, but now we learn she is no longer directing thor 2 due to creative differences. . Jenkins told the Hollywood reporter that quote, "We parted on very good terms, and I look forward to working with them again." . This comes as a major shock to us marvel movie fans as just last week she was working on the flick and even praised the marvel franchise during a photo shoot with THR...she said, "I have a long love of superhero films and I'd been saying over and over again to my agents at CAA that I'd like to do one./..That's the real revolution. "The Marvel guys are so brave in terms of who they choose overall, and I don't think they had any pause about me being a woman." . AS you guys may know, this is the SECOND director to walk away from thor 2...kenneth branagh who directed thor didn't return for the 2nd installment also siting creative differences! Ah, spring. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and flocks of beautiful people are pitching up on the red carpet outside a swanky hotel in London. It can only mean one thing: it's time for the Jameson Empire Awards 2012. The big winner of the night was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which took home Best Thriller, Best Actor (for Gary Oldman) and Best British Film. The Best Film of the year went to Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part Two, which also won Best Director for David Yates, while Olivia Colman took Best Actress for her astonishing turn in Tyrannosaur.

The Awards were voted for by the Empire reader, and it's fair to say that they reflect a wide-ranging taste. Best Comedy went to homegrown British juggernaut The Inbetweeners, while Best Horror went to the deeply disturbing Kill List. The Americans got a look-in for Best Sci-Fi / Fantasy withThor (although even that has a British director in Kenneth Branagh).

Thor's wayward brother Loki, or at least alter-ego Tom Hiddleston, took Best Male Newcomer, while Best Female Newcomer went to Felicity Jones. The Art Of 3D Award went to The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn.

After that, it was on to the special awards for people we just think are awesome. Empire Hero was Michael Fassbender this year; Empire Inspiration went to Ron Howard ("for Apollo 13 alone, he deserves this!" as presenter Chris Hemsworth noted") and this year's Empire Icon was Tim Burton.

Chris HEmsworth talks thor 2, and I have the details!

Thanks to slash Film, we get a little more insight on thor 2, from the man beh9ind the hammer, chris hemsworth!

First thing confirmed, we know there is a script! Hemsworth revealed he's read the script and met with director Alan Taylor (as well as co-star Natalie Portman) about the film and mentioned that there will be a whole new look and feel to Asgard this time around.

Elaborating on asgard He said, "I think of big waterfalls and mountains and a Viking influence, where the Norse mythology kind of grew from. Having that in Asgard is going to make it all the more special and that's what Alan wants to bring to it. I think that would be the new aspect to this one.

AS far as Alan Taylor replaced Kenneth branagh at the helm, hemsworth thinks the sequel will be more exciting! He said, "Ken did such a wonderful job and, with scheduling or what have you, he didn't end up doing this one, but I'm a big fan of the 'Game of Thrones' series, which is Alan's latest work, and I think that is what's exciting about the second one."
