The BioShock movie adaptation loses its director and Ive got the details!

Accordig to playlist, bioshock is no longer in the hands of 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Fresnadillo is currently doing press for his latest film, Intruders, and signs are now pointing to him as the director of Summit Entertainment's planned Highlander reboot and passing on bioshock.

He said, "To be honest, by now, I'm completely out of that, and developing other stuff....Right now it's on hold. The studio and the video game company, they have to reach some kind of agreement about the budget and the rating."

Fresnadillo is the second director to move on from developing the BioShock adaptation, following Gore Verbinski. We reported that the The Pirates of the Caribbean director confirmed he was not involved in the project in February siting similar issues: the cost was too high for a movie that necessitates an R rating. R-rated movies tend to draw smaller crowds due to the age barrier, which is why Hollywood typically pushes for big-budget releases to aim for a PG-13 or lower.
