Hey guys, thanks for tuning into clevver movies, Your number once source for movie news, Im your host Tatiana carrier with an update on the much talked about star trek villain! . We just reported this week that Beneicio del toro stepped down as star trek villain due to moeteary issues, and now according to Variety, Edgar Ramirez from bourne ultimatum and domino, is now the front runner to play Star Trek 2's villain! Jordi Molla who you may from bad boys 3 and blow is also in the running ...so we will have to wait and see! . While nothing is set in stone just yet, director J.J. Abrams is expected to make a decision before the weekend, since the January 15 production start date is quickly approaching! . Star Trek cast members Chris Pine,Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin are expected to return for Star Trek 2...the villain? Well, we will have to keep you guys posted on that one! Hey guys thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host Tatiana carrier and ive got a casting update from JJ Abrams star trek sequel! . According to Deadline, British film actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in a lead role in the film. No word yet on whether he'll be a hero or villain, but many in the industry are speculating that he will play the lead villain in the film. If this is true, rumors that the villain for the second installment of the reboot would be the infamous "Khan", originally played by Ricardo Montalban in the original series and 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, are most likely false, unless Abrams decides to take Khan in a much different direction this go round. Cumberbatch has gained recent attention playing the title role in the hit BBC series Sherlock and landed high-profile roles in Oscar potential films War Horse and Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy. He will next be seen, or at least heard, voicing the roles of Smaug the Dragon and The Necromancer in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit films. . Another actor to join the cast is Cumberbatch's fellow Brit, Noel Clarke, who you may know best from his role as "Mickey Smith" in that other popular BBC series, Doctor Who. Clarke will reportedly play a family man, with a wife and daughter. Not much to go on from that description, but let's hope he doesn't end up being a crewmember with a red shirt. We all know what happens to those guys. . Clarke and cumberbatch joins fellow Brit Alice Eve and Peter Weller in the film's cast, while Edgar Ramirez and Jordi Molla were, last we heard, fighting it out to replace Benicio Del Toro as the film's villain, who may or may not be Khan. With the addition of Cumberbatch to the cast, we'll have to wait and see if there's still a role to be had. . Either way we will find out soon enough as shooting is set to begin later this month!
