UP next ClevverTV tells you why Jon Chu signed on to direct Never Say Never. Keep it here. You're back ClevverTV. Hello Beliebers! I'm Joslyn Davis at our studio with straight from Jon Chu's chat with MTV. So when asked why he said yes to doing this film, Jon's answer was "Who would say no to doing a Justin Bieber movie in 3-D?" Well, clearly not him, and there are a ton of reasons why he was and is in the perfect person to head up the Biebs' movie project. First up, Jon explained that he "started at YouTube. After Step Up 2, [they] did a bunch of YouTube videos, and about that same time, Justin was doing all of his videos." Which, as we know, are initially what put him on the path to success. That said, Jon's been following the Biebs for several years, adding that he's "watched Justin in the YouTube community grow and break out of that into the mainstream." Plus, Jon understands that "especially for this generation of kids, [it's important to show] that they could make it on their own with a big corporation," and that was something that really seems to have attracted him to this project -- and about the film's story, well he says he "thought it was an exciting way to tell it: through his music." Jon Chu has worked with a ton amazing and talented people through his work on the Step UP Movie Franchise, and we also want to give him a shout out for his work with LXD -- the dance group that Harry Shum JR from Glee is part of - in fact we'll have a link to our interview with him from a while back in our story info, so feel free to check it out. That was your Jon Chu -- Justin Bieber -- Never Say Never inside scoop. I'm Joslyn Davis, thanks so much for watching. See you later!
