From Miley Cyrus' mature white pant suit look to Donna Summer's tribute cut short- we've got your 2012 Billboard Award highlights. Hey Music fans, welcome back to ClevverMusic. The 2012 Billboard Awards started off with stars dominating the red carpet, including Carrie Underwood's over the top Oscar de la Renta gown! Miley Cyrus surprised us with a sophisticated Jean Paul Gaultier white pant suit and retro hairstyle- and we like it!
Party Rockers extraordinaire LMFAO opened the show performing their Party Rock Anthem, and don't worry their signature human zebra was in attendance. Co-hosts for the night, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen of 'Modern Family' took to the stage and took a moment of silence to honor the late Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees.
The night was filled with artist tribute's including British pop star Natasha Bedingfield paying tribute to Donna Summer by singing 'Last Dance', but was cut short when she transitioned into an upbeat song, the producers cut to a commercial break, upsetting many watchers.
Whitney Houston, who died in February was honored at the show with the Billboard Millennium Award, presented by Whoopi Goldberg who shared a joke about the late singer, and John Legend, and Jordin Sparks each sang in her honor. In the most touching moment of the night, Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina and sister-in-law Patricia Houston accepted the award on Whitney's behalf. Bobbi explained she was "blessed to have been in such an incredible woman's life."
CeeLo Green and newly reunited group The Goodie Mob helped pay respects to the late Adam Yauch of Beastie Boys with "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)" after singing their own track "Fight To Win." Wiz Khalifa also paid tribute to Adam Yauch before presenting an award.
