Il y a eu des pionniers comme Elvis Presley, des génies comme Jimi Hendrix, des phénomènes comme Kurt Cobain?tous ont écrit l'histoire de la guitare électrique en marquant leurs époques respectives. Puis l'éditeur Activision eu l'idée osée mais géniale d'amener la guitare au-delà du statut d'instrument en développant un modèle susceptible de séduire un large public, pas forcément fan de solfège. L'idée de l'échange musical interactif nous ayant convaincu, nous avons forcément demandés à nos acolytes Nights et Real Spawn de tester cette production hors du commun. Entre maquillage à la Kiss et look façon « pote de Johnny », ces énergumènes du net se sont lancés dans quelques rifles?âmes sensibles s'abstenir car, rôle de rockers oblige, ils parlent comme des charretiers ! Le festival hippie de Woodstock (Etat de New-York) réunit pendant trois jours près de 400 000 personnes pour célébrer l'amour, la paix, la musique. Les plus grandes stars du rock se succéderont sur la scène : Joan Baez, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, Santana, The Who... et Jimi Hendrix qui y interprétera l'hymne américain, "Star Splangled Banner", de façon à évoquer les bombes qui tombent alors sur le Vietnam.

Mort de Jimi Hendrix
Le légendaire guitariste-chanteur américain d'origine cherokee s'éteint à Londres à 10 heures du matin. Selon la version officielle, James Marshall Hendrix meurt "étouffé suite à une intoxication par somnifères"... Ce gaucher autodidacte de la guitare était devenu en quelques années à peine un mythe de la musique rock. Figure de la lutte contre la guerre du Vietnam, il est resté célèbre grâce à son interprétation de l'hymne américain lors du festival de Woodstock en août 1969. A sa mort, il laisse à son père une fortune colossale, 100 millions de dollars. Eric Clapton interrompt sa tournée en Angleterre pour aller jouer à ses funérailles le 4 octobre à Seattle.

Ici,j'ai voulu vous faire part de ma vision"intrumentale" de ce titre majestueux"Power of soul",issue du magnifique témoignage-live at the fillmore east- du voodoo chile en compagnie de son"band of gypsys".Il posséde tellement de hits a son actif,que mon choix a été difficille.Je qualiefierais "power of soul" comme mon oeuvre préféré du gaucher a la strat';car ce titre posséde tous les atouts de son jeu,une composition,qui 40 ans aprés sa mort,sonne toujours au gout du jour,pour peu qu'on s'y interresse.Technique,mélodieux,structure ENORME et révolutionnaire pour l'époque,et un groove qui prend aux trippes.

J'ai moi meme fais le backing,car j'ai pas réussi a en trouver un,a vous de juger,j'ai fais au mieux,car comme chacun sait,le Maitre reste innimitable!

Armé de ma Strato,qui passe dans ma cry-baby et arrive enfin dans mon Marshall;la configuration préféré du Maestro,bonne écoute!

The girls team spends a whole week in New York City meeting and talking with all types of people, some very famous and some less famous. Jolene talks with a very colorful guy named Gereno who is a huge Sennheiser fan. Jolene and Natalie interview the legendary producer Ron Saint Germain, who has worked with some of the most influential acts in music including Jimi Hendrix, Sonic Youth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Soundgarden, Mos Def, Michael Jackson and U2. He loves Sennheiser too. They also crash the Today Show and hang out in the Annex Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

James Murphy's decision to wind up LCD Soundsystem with an April 2nd farewell concert at Madison Square Garden sent the ticket scalpers into overdrive, and the band's followers suddenly found themselves unable to purchase tix to the event through the normal channels. An enraged Murphy posted a saltily worded blog post on the band's site, and added four other dates to help placate his fan base. LCD Soundsystem's last TV appearance was broadcast on February 14th on the Colbert Report, where the group played ?I Can Change? and Murphy sat for an interview with Colbert, who seemed incredulous that a 41 year-old man would retire from rock. We're kind of of the same mind, and will miss the dance band that brought us catchy synth rock numbers like 2007's ?All My Friends?. Bright Eyes are another group who are packing it in before their time is due. Their 7th album ?The People's Key? dropped on February 15th and they played the single ?Jejune Stars? a week later on the Letterman show. We follow up that new track with a bit of ?4 Winds? from 2007's acclaimed ?Cassadaga?, to see how the two compare. Conner Oberst and Mike Mogis will likely fill some of their post Bright Eyes time with Monsters of Folk, the indie-Americana super group they formed with M. Ward and Jim James. With only one album recorded under that moniker, we hope they'll amp things up a bit ? their Austin City Limits performance from last October ? ?Whole Lotta Losin'? and ?Baby Boomer? are featured here ? suggests there's a lot more music to be mined amongst this talented fivesome. We've already received a bit of flak over our decision to include Leo Sayer in this week's episode, but hey, the man was cool once, as our clip of ?Tomorrow? from BBC In Concert in 1974 clearly indicates. And ?ole Leo also wrote all the songs on Roger Daltrey's solo debut, including the terrific ?Giving It All Away?. 2011 just might be the year that sees Jimi Hendrix's 1969 Royal Albert Hall concert finally appear on an officially sanctioned DVD. The eerie song entitled 27 talks about a friend who is addicted to drugs and eventually dies. MIA tweeted to her fans that she recorded the song to originally be on her new mixtape, but decided to put it out for Amy instead. It's pretty scary how pefect the lyrics are for the current situation. MIA sings, your friendship did mean something but you left me for nothing. 27 is of course the age Amy was when she was found dead in her London flat over the weekend, and she joins fellow talented artists Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and Jimi hendrix who all died at that age as well. Amy's family has issued a statement saying, Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives." So sad. Peter Piek is a German painter, author, and songwriter. (mt/tg) Peter Piek did not exist between 2001 and 2006 this is what his self-written biography tells us. There used to be several Peters. Split into multiple partial personalities? as he remarks it laconically. He abandonded this state in 2006 when he reunited the remaining partial personalities. During this time he was studying Fine Art and Painting, when founded the artist group Malfront, wrote two books about his vision of painting. His quintessence: Painting just starts primarily with painting! Critics get rather complicated when they talk about Peter Piek as painter, using words like Being, the Physically compound consistency of the canvas and the rhythmic breathing which is synthesised into an interwoven interaction. One stereotype is not enough. In Biel (Switzerland) however, Peter Piek performes at a concert, since he is actually a songwriter and multi-instrument player, as well. He may have merged his partial personalities into one, but for artists like Peter Piek one art form is not enough for him to articulate. Therefore, his 'Say Yes To Peter Piek' tour stops on Thursday at AJZ Gaskessel in Biel. If you try describe Peter Piek's music, you might classify it as Independent Rock, although it would hardly fit as this is not quite correct. The term Pop would not come close to his ambition for art, as his Songs are too ecclectic and complex. Peter Piek's voice is unusual. He sings in a high pitch, but not in head voice. It sounds similiar to Neil Young and Sigur Ros. The shows are always intensive, though. In front of a full club, the nearly 6.5 feet frontman Peter Piek screams out his love to life, throws himself with his guitar in sheer ecstasy to the ground using distorted chords to sob his weltschmerz through the sound system. Piek's archetypes must be Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Featuring his band the Colours, Peter Piek is an artist who tries to merge painting and music. His band is named The Colours and a fan wrote about his last album 'Say Hello To Peter Piek' 'Everybody who knows his paintings thinks: They are like music. Contrariwuse, you could suppose his music is like colourful paintings. There's a colourful evening waiting on us in Biel. It remains to hope that Peter Piek still continues unifying his partial personalities.

Season 11's soulful rocker goes home during 'Queen' week, in an unsurprising results show. Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. Elise Testone was eliminated from American Idol last night, in the least surprising results show of the season. Not unsurprising because she isn't talented, but Elise has been plagued by the 'bottom 3' week after week. Joining raspy singer Elise in the 'bottom 3' was Skylar Laine, and Hollie Cavanagh.

It's safe to say Elise is one the most talented and unique gals in the competition, with her smoky, husky voice and edgy rock n' roll vibe. We think Elise was often in Bottomville due to her poor song choices and the fact that Idol is at the core, a pop show, and she is a rocker. Elise was likely unable to connect with the show's younger demographic especially with Wednesday night's performance of Jimi Hendrix's "Bold as Love."

Elise was known in the competition show for her raspy renditions of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and Billy Joel's "Vienna," but this week's song choices were not enough to catapult her into the Top 5.

Katy Perry graced the Idol stage last night with her revenge hit, 'Part of Me,' performed military-style in sync with the music video's military theme. Katy donned her purple hair that she first debuted at Coachella.
