Stephenie Meyer Produces 'Austenland'

I'm Joslyn Davis in Hollywood, with news that Stephenie Meyer is sinking her teeth into a new movie project. The Twilight author is set to produce Austenland, a Jane Austen-inspired romantic comedy based on the novel by Shannon Hale. Meyer is reportedly such a huge fan of Jane Austen that she named Edward after a character in Austen's Sense and Sensibility. And of course, Pride and Prejudice was the novel Bella was reading in Twilight. Austenland follows a modern woman whose obsession with Mr. Darcy is ruining her love life. So she travels to an Austen-themed resort in England, only to fall for the actor who plays Mr. Darcy at Austenland. Meyer will produce the film under her Fickle Fish Films banner, and this will be her first time producing a movie that isn't an adaptation of one of her own works. Austenland stars Kerri Russel, J.J. Field and Bret McKenzie and will mark the directorial debut of Meyer's longtime friend Jerusha Hess, who co-wrote Napoleon Dynamite. We hear that filming will begin this week in the UK, and we can't wait to see if there will be an ode to Twilight in the flick.
