I'm breaking down the top music stories of the week, including the deadly stage collapse, Deets on the VMA tributes, and Katy Perry and Beyonce getting comparisons to the King of Pop. Beginning with the tragic story at the Indiana State Fair, five people died after the stage collapsed at the event last weekend before the Sugarland Show. A memorial was held the next day for the lives lost, and an internal investigation has been launched. Speaking of concerts, Beyonce came under fire this week after Perez Hilton claimed she used a teleprompter during her NYC shows this week to remember her lines. No statement has been issued by Bey's camp, but many fans have responded negatively to it/ Bey's hubby Jay Z on the other hand is having a stellar week. He was added to the iheartradio fest in september, and his watch the throne album broke itunes records for the most downloads in one week, as well as a number 1 spot on the Billboard 200. He did give the wifey quite the compliment however, calling Beyonce the second coming of Michael Jackson, and calling her work ethic unprecedented. In other MJ comparisons, Katy Perry tied the King of Pop with the most singles off of one album in Billboard history. Hers for Teenage Dream, His for Bad. And finally, the VMAs are shaping up to be pretty rad! Gaga announced she's opening the show with a performance. And we also hear she's gonna be a part of a Britney Spears tribute, along with Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Kesha and Katy Perry. There have also been whispers about an Amy winehouse tribute during the show, but nothing official has been released from MTV. So those are your weekly top stories! Janet Jackson Boycotts Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Hi there, you're watching ClevverMusic, I'm Bridget Daly in Hollywood. Well Randy and Jermaine Jackson aren't the only two siblings of Michael who aren't in favor of the tribute concert scheduled for next month. Now Janet Jackson has come forward to announce she's not in support of it either. She said in a statement, "Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me." Now keep in mind this comes right after some of Michael Jackson's biggest fan clubs have decided to boycott the show, citing its inappropriateness due to the timing. Michael's other brothers, as well as his mother Katherine and sister La Toya are in favor of the concert which will feature performances by Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, as well as a satellite performance by Beyonce. It's a mix of two classic songs from Miss Jackson, "Love Will Never Do" and "Escapade." Kat, along with choreographer genius Laurieann Gibson, who is better known by some as Boom Boom Katt, from her days working with Diddy, shows off dance moves like no other, along with the help of many dancers, some of which are, dare I say it, shirtless. The entertainment world is revving up for one of the young Hollywood world's biggest nights -- the Video Music Awards on MTV. The popular and attention grabbing show, which is widely referred to as the VMAs, will air in just a few short weeks, and thanks to a new promo clip making the rounds online, we have more reason than ever to get excited. More or less, it shows a variety of different shots of Britney Spears as she walks to various locations, each of which feature what looks to be an homage to one of her many hit songs. Plus, TV producer Johnathan Woodbeck tweeted out about the rumored line-up stars rumored to be participating in the Britney tribute saying, quote: "If this lineup is legit (which I'm told it is) the tribute to Britney at the VMAs is gonna be insanely EPIC!" On the note of the line-up, here's who he revealed we could be seeing- Selena Gomez performing "Baby One More Time," Katy Perry taking "Oops I Did it Again," the one and only Janet Jackson doing "I'm a Slave For You," Demi Lovato rocking "Toxic,' Lady Gaga killing it on "Circus," then there's supposed to be a team-up from Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj on "Gimme More," and lastly we hear that Britney will hit the stage to shut the house down with "Hold It Against Me" and "I Wanna Go." So basically, it sounds like the most famous names in pop music right now will be hitting the stage to perform some of our favorite songs of all time. Let's hope this is 100 percent true, because fans are so excited, I just don't know what will happen if this doesn't actually happen at the VMA's. What do you guys think? ClevverTV is back in action with the latest rumored reports circulating about the VMA's -- I'm your host Joslyn Davis. Nickelodeon it-girl Victoria Justice is confirmed to attend and present an award at a show that is sure to make headlines. One of this year's most talked about performances is a Britney Spears tribute. Current buzz has music mega stars like Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Janet Jackson, Katy Perry and Kesha set to hit the VMA stage in honor of Brit. And now, thanks to J-14, we've learned that Victoria Justice may also be a part of the uber-talented female rundown. The new report is also quick to note Victoria's history with the pop princess. Vic worked with Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn several years ago on the hit show Zoey 101. That said, Victoria could be a great, very personalized addition to the talked about line-up. Selena Gomez struck down rumors that she would be participating in the tribute, saying she hadn't been called about it. Of course, this teen dance competition already has Selena Gomez, Sean Kingston and SUI choreographer Rosero McCoy signed on -- along with Debby Ryan and Roshon Fegan as hosts -- but we just got word that the dancers' mentors are amazing. The six finalists will meet up with some of Hollywood's best to receive encouragement and props, so you'll also be seeing appearances from Joe Jonas, Katy Perry, Will.i.am, Janet Jackson, Ne-Yo and Jason Derulo on the show. Here's some footage of what to expect. Remember to tune into the Disney Channel on Friday October 14 at 8:30pm eastern pacific for the dance competition -- and all of the star appearances -- and then make sure that you get your vote on -- we've got the link below in our info section.
