Dreamworks and Disneys Real Steel came in first throughout the weekend with 27.3 million dollars at the box office. This Shawn Levy-directed bot battle starring Hugh Jackman received a rare 'A' CinemaScore overall and 'A+' from moviegoers under age 25. The pic is based on the 1956 short story "Steel" by Richard Matheson, which is Set in the near future, where robot boxing is a top sport. In the flick, a struggling promoter feels he's found a champion in a discarded robot. During his hopeful rise to the top, he discovers he has an 11-year-old son who wants to know his father. Sonys The Ides Of March came in second with 10.4 million throughout the weekend. "The acting is absolutely tremendous. You coudn't take your eyes off any one of these actors," Sony president of worlwide distribution Rory Bruer said. Ides of March, costing a modest $12.5 million to produce, drew a B CinemaScore overall and a B+ from moviegoers under the age of 18. Cold Creek Pictures fully financed the pic, with Sony distributing. The flick stars goerge Clooney and ryan gosling. Coming in third place is our relentless dolphin in the dolphin tale. The flick made 9.1 throughtout the weekend with a cume of 49 million. The story centered on the friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap stars morgan freedman, Ashley judd and harry connick jr. Coming in 4th place is brad pitt and Jonah hills money ball. The baseball movie took in 7.5 through the weekend for a total of 49.2 million at the box office so far. And finally in 5th is 50/50 starring joseph Gordon levitt and seth rogan. The flick brought in 5.5 million throughtout the weekend for a cume of 17.3 million dollars.
