A l'occasion du 20e anniversaire de la Convention des Droits de l'Enfant, tous les élèves des classes de 4ème ont pu voir la projection du film « Le Cahier » de Hana Makhmalbaf, ayant obtenu le grand prix de San Sebastian (Février 2008).

Petit film, petits acteurs, petits moyens pour une vision profonde des racines de l'intolérance et des préjugés qui sommeillent dans chaque être humain.

Pour son film Le Cahier, la réalisatrice Hana Makhmalbaf filme les enfants de Bamian qui, déjà dans leurs jeux, reproduisent les gestes de guerre et d'intolérance transmis par les adultes. Le film a été tourné en Afghanistan sous les statues géantes de Bouddhas détruites par les talibans et près des grottes où tentent de vivre des familles décimées par des années de guerre.

On retiendra du Cahier une image originale forte qui forme l'épilogue et le prologue du film: une explosion, des vestiges culturels et religieux qui s'effondrent. Un monde en décomposition ? Makhmalbaf semble proche de faire ce constat. Baktay comprend au final que si elle veut avoir la paix elle doit accepter de «faire la morte et elle sera libre ». The story takes place in modern Afghanistan following the removal of the Taliban and revolves around a 5-year-old Afghan girl who wants to attend a newly opened school. The girl Bakhtay, portrayed by Nikbakht Noruz, lives in the caves under the remains of the Buddhas of Bamyan which were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001. Bakhtay becomes obsessed with the idea of going to school but must fight against a society influenced by conditions suffered during the strict Taliban rule including male domination, war, poverty and dire children's games

La projection de "Green Days" est toujours interdite au Liban
Les autorités libanaises continuent d'interdire la projection du film iranien "Green Days" sur les protestations qui avaient suivi la réélection contestée, en 2009, du président Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Le documentaire produit par la réalisatrice Hana Makhmalbaf, avait été déjà programmé à l'occasion d'un festival à Beyrouth, qui s'est déroulé au mois de juin dernier. Ponctué de séquences de fiction, il relate l'histoire d'Aya, une jeune fille qui décide d'aller à la rencontre des manifestants réprimés par le régime. Selon un responsable du gouvernement libanais qui suit ce dossier, la décision d'interdire la projection du film serait intervenue à la suite d'un appel de l'ambassadeur iranien à Beyrouth. 

Lebanon bans Iranian film
Lebanon banned the screening of an Iranian film showing the anti-government protests in the 2009 elections in Iran following the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The film was to have been screened at the Beirut International Film Festival but the general security informed the organizers that they were forbidden to screen the film. The film called Green Days by Iranian film maker Hana Makhmalbaf shows raw footage of the anti-government protest that erupted and the violent response of the security forces against the demonstrators following Iran's 2009 presidential elections. Makhmalbaf is the daughter of Mohsen Makhmalbaf a close confidante of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi.

Sous les anciennes statues géantes de Bouddhas détruites par les talibans, des milliers de familles tentent de survivre dans des grottes. Baktay, une petite fille de 6 ans, entend toute la journée son petit voisin réciter l'alphabet. Elle se met alors en tête d'aller à l'école, quitte à braver tous les dangers.
