'Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows' Review Round-Up
http://bit.ly/clevvermovies - Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies - Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies - Follow Us! The reviews are in for Sherlock holmes a game of shadows and weve got the details! Hey everyone, thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, im your host Tatiana carrier! Sherlock Holmes a game of shadows releases this week, so I thought we would see what the critics are saying before you guys head out to the theatres and see the flick yourselves! . Brian Lowry from Variety liked the detective flick! He said, "While director Guy Ritchie's excesses and modern concessions -- among them a lot of explosions -- remain intact, the parts of this second Sherlock Holmes are considerably more rewarding." . James Bernardinelli from relviews also was a fan, he said, "A Game of Shadows is a stronger, better realized movie that builds upon the strengths of the original and jettisons some of the weaknesses." . But our pal from the hollywood reporter couldn't disagree more...todd mcarthy said, "The wardrobe foolishness comes off fine thanks to Downey's deadpan unashamedness, while the action stuff, perhaps arresting the first couple of times you see it, already seems hackneyed, mannered and overworked, an affectation of diminishing returns." . SO now that we know what the critics are thinking, will you guys be checking out Robert downey js as Sherlock holmes when it releases Friday? Let us know by commenting below and while your at it don't forget to subscribe to our channel so that you stay in the movie know! Thanks for hanging out we will see you soon!
Weekend Box Office Wrap-Up Ghost Protocol vs Sherlock Holmes
http://bit.ly/clevvermovies - Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies - Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies - Follow Us! So who won the box office this holiday weekend? Hey Movie Buffs, Joshua Ovenshire here for Clevver Movies filling in for Tatiana Carrier. Normally we recap a three day weekend for box office sales, but because of the holiday we're looking at numbers from a four day holiday weekend Friday through Monday. Let's see how it turned out. Coming in first was the blockbuster sequel, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It opened with a whopping $46.2 million dollars. We saw it on the charts last week, but with its wide release this week, it's easy to see how it jumped to that number one slot. Second place is another sequel in fact, Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows took home $31.8 Million dollars. Guy Ritchie brings us the second installment of one of our favorite detectives played by Robert Downey Jr and his trusted sidekick Watson played by Law reprising his role. It's everything we had in the first one but raised to the next level. A must watch and a great laugh. Still holding on to it's place in the charts, is Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked in third place with $20 Million dollars. Now critics didn't have many good things to say about this flick, but really, it's a kids movie and at the end of the day, it's them with the deciding vote. So with all the tikes out on break, they're asking mom and dad to take them to see this third movie in the Chimpmunk franchise. Fourth place did surprisingly well for being an R rated holiday release. Girl With The Dragon Tattoo racked up $19.4 Million dollars. This movie was actually released on Tuesday December 20th, and the numbers recorded are only from Friday to Monday. I'm sure we'll see this movie stay on the charts for a while though, it's just building up it's audience right now. And wrapping up the top five is The adventures of Tin Tin. This is actually one of TWO movies directed by Steven Spielberg released last week and it took home $16.1 Million dollars. Personally, I think this is a great movie, and as word spreads I think we can expect to see this family film do quite well in the box office. Well there it is ladies and gentleman. Numbers don't lie. Even with the hectic holidays at hand, audiences still made it to the movies. But we here at Clevver movies want to know what you saw! Go ahead and leave your mini reviews in the comments below and let us know what we neeed to be watching over the next few days. You can also follow us on twitter @clevvermovies. Athletes Turned Action Stars - Top 5 Tuesday
http://bit.ly/clevvermovies - Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies - Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies - Follow Us! Hey guys, Tatiana Carrier here with ClevverMovies, and it's Top 5 Tuesday. In honor of MMA fighter Gina Carano's starring role in this week's 'Haywire,' we thought we'd count down our favorite athlete-turned-action stars. . First up is Vinnie Jones. This British former soccer star turned his tough footballer image into an aggressive and intimidating acting persona, starring in Guy Ritchie's 'Snatch' as Bullet-Tooth Tony and 'X-Men: The Last Stand' as Juggernaut. . Next up is the man who can slam a revolving door. Before becoming a pop culture icon, Chuck Norris was a nationally ranked martial artist. He rose to fame with 'Walker Texas Ranger' and a number of action films, but we know him best for his fitness infomercials and cameo in Dodgeball. We're looking forward to seeing him in 'The Expendables 2' later this year. . Our number 3 pick is Jason Statham. Our favorite bad-ass bad boy onscreen was once a professional diver on Britain's National Diving Squad. Statham rose to stardom after his roles in Guy Ritchie's 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels' and 'Snatch,' but it wasn't until he was given a starring role as 'The Transporter' that he was really able to reveal his bad-ass-ness. . Number 2 is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. This WWE superstar made the move to film as 'The Scorpion King' in 2002, and hasn't lost steam since. His versatility in both action and comedic roles have made him a superstar film actor, and he's only been getting better with age. . And finally, our number one athlete turned actor can be none other than the governator himself, Mr. Ahr-nold Schwarzenegger. Before becoming a sci-fi film legend, he was an internationally renowned body builder. But after his roles in 'Conan the Barbarian' and 'The Terminator' that led to roles in 'Total Recall,' 'Twins,' and 'Batman and Robin,' Schwarzenegger has become a household name. . So there you have it! Let us know who your list would include, and be sure to check back next week for another Top 5 Tuesday. I'm Tatiana Carrier, thanks for tuning in.
