"Take Control" est une chanson d'Amerie, et est le premier single tiré de son album Because I Love It sorti en 2007. La chanson contient un featuring de Cee-Lo qui l'a co-écrite, et a été produite par Mike Caren.
Enregistrement.
C'est après avoir écrit la chanson que Cee-Lo proposa à Amerie de l'enregistrer pour son nouvel album. En temps normal elle n'aurait pas accepté car elle ne travaille pas avec des gens extérieurs à son staff habituel, mais étant fan de Cee-Lo depuis ses débuts au sein de Goodie Mob, elle se décida à enregistrer le titre. Malgré tout, ne trouvant pas la chanson assez dansante, elle réécrit une accroche, un pont et ajouta une partie instrumentale avec des cuivres qui marque ce son différent qui la caractérise et rende ce morceau dansant.
Le clip vidéo
Le clip a été tourné fin octobre 2006 et fut diffusé en avant première sur Internet le 3 décembre suivant. C'est le janvier 2007 que le clip fit son apparition sur les chaînes de télévision américaines. Il a été réalisé par Scott Franklin, on retrouve de nombreux clins d'oeil au film de Michelangelo Antonioni Blow Up. La vidéo débute avec une courte introduction sur le titre That's What U R.
Fin mars 2007, un remix de Take Control par DJ Camille Starr, et comportant un featuring avec le chanteur anglo-asiatique S-Endz, commença à circuler sur le net. C'est une version très accélérée de la chanson originale. Le remix radio officiel en featuring avec le chanteur coréen Se7en commença à être diffusé en mai, et se trouve uniquement sur l'édition asiatique de l'album. On retrouve d'autres remixes comme le Tracy Young's Taking Control Mix ou bien encore le Karmatronic Mix.

From Miley Cyrus' mature white pant suit look to Donna Summer's tribute cut short- we've got your 2012 Billboard Award highlights. Hey Music fans, welcome back to ClevverMusic. The 2012 Billboard Awards started off with stars dominating the red carpet, including Carrie Underwood's over the top Oscar de la Renta gown! Miley Cyrus surprised us with a sophisticated Jean Paul Gaultier white pant suit and retro hairstyle- and we like it!
Party Rockers extraordinaire LMFAO opened the show performing their Party Rock Anthem, and don't worry their signature human zebra was in attendance. Co-hosts for the night, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen of 'Modern Family' took to the stage and took a moment of silence to honor the late Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees.
The night was filled with artist tribute's including British pop star Natasha Bedingfield paying tribute to Donna Summer by singing 'Last Dance', but was cut short when she transitioned into an upbeat song, the producers cut to a commercial break, upsetting many watchers.
Whitney Houston, who died in February was honored at the show with the Billboard Millennium Award, presented by Whoopi Goldberg who shared a joke about the late singer, and John Legend, and Jordin Sparks each sang in her honor. In the most touching moment of the night, Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina and sister-in-law Patricia Houston accepted the award on Whitney's behalf. Bobbi explained she was "blessed to have been in such an incredible woman's life."
CeeLo Green and newly reunited group The Goodie Mob helped pay respects to the late Adam Yauch of Beastie Boys with "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)" after singing their own track "Fight To Win." Wiz Khalifa also paid tribute to Adam Yauch before presenting an award.
