The search to fill The Wolverine director's seat has been narrowed down- we've got the top picks Next.. Welcome to Clevver Movies, I'm Andrea Feczko. Ever since Darren Aronofsky left as director of "Wolverine", Fox has been searching for the right person to tackle the highly anticipated sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now Fox has narrowed it down to eight, yes, eight directors. There's still a lot of competition. So, the top contenders are: Fast Five's Justin Lin, Bourne Identity's Doug Liman, Training Day's Antoine Fuqua, Pride & Glory's Gavin O'Connor, Girl, Interrupted's James Mangold, Jose Padilha, Mark Romanek, and commercials director Gary Shore. All the directors except Romanek and Shore have directed action movies so it really is anyone's game! Fox is reportedly in no rush to decide, even though Wolverine set to hit theaters next year.
