Formé en 2000 à Hollywood (donc) le groupe tire son nom d'une légende locale et mondiale : Orson Welles, génie du cinéma, auteur de Citizen Kane et de célèbres adaptations de William Shakespeare. Un choix qui s'explique par l'esthétique théâtrale propre au groupe. Formé aux arts du spectacle, le chanteur, Jason Pebworth est un fan de Broadway et de tout ce qui brille de l'aura du mythe. Ce magicien qu'était Welles, construisant et déconstruisant à l'envi les mythes, ne pouvait que séduire un rêveur comme lui.
La musique d'Orson conserve un ancrage précis, qu'on pourrait croire démodé : le hard FM de Queen ou Black Sabbath (deuxième période) ainsi que la tradition soft californienne marquée par Hall & Oates, Fleetwood Mac (deuxième période itou) ou les Doobie Brothers. The Darkness ou Phoenix (qui avait réactualisé « Surrender » de Cheap Trick) ont prouvé qu'il n'en était rien et que bien accommodées, ces recettes pouvaient toujours être du goût des clubbers.
Tout comme les Arctic Monkeys, le groupe a bénéficié du nouveau rôle d'Internet dans la promotion musicale. Relevé par le magazine « Q » comme un des 50 titres les plus téléchargés en décembre 2005, il n'en finit plus d'enfler sur la bulle web depuis, jusqu'à dépasser en avril 2006 le record d'iTunes. Leur premier album, qui devrait paraître en juin, est donc très attendu.

SOMETHING SALLY'S DEBUT ALBUM ?FAMILIAR STRANGERS?
Something Sally's long awaited debut album, released last year in Norway, is released in India this month - March 09. The album is titled ?Familiar Strangers? and when you listen to their music, it is easy to see why. The sound of Something Sally is unlike anything you've heard before; it's new yet retro, original yet strangely familiar. Despite spending the better half of their musical life in blustery Liverpool, Something Sally has distinct warmth in their music. In 2002, the three friends packed their bags and moved from their home country Norway to the UK to broaden their musical horizon. Four years and three bands later they have a unique sound and fans all over the world. Something Sally has proved to be one this year's most promising debut bands from Norway. Only weeks after releasing their first single "Sally Can't Wait", they were chosen as one of Norway's top 15 most export-friendly musical acts in renowned music magazine Music Week. The single reached 10th place in the charts for Norwegian acts in week 36, and topped the best selling charts on iTunes Norway for several weeks. The second and third singles "The Taste" & "Circles" were also just as well received by the Norwegian media, reaching no.7 on the sales charts and were among the most played songs on Norwegian radio within a month of release. The Light Parade are the musical partnership of Alex Howard and Kara DuBose. After meeting at college in Abilene, Texas they began singing and writing together in their senior year and the chemistry between them was instant. With influences ranging from The Beatles, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Damien Rice, Fleetwood Mac to Coldplay, they have a unique sound based around two voices and and acoustic guitars.
Having already received personal endorsements from the likes of Glen Hansard (The Swell Season/ The Frames) and Grammy award winning producer Tim Palmer (David Bowie, U2, Pearl Jam) and a steadily growing fan base beyond Texas, they are currently busy writing and recording material for their debut album to be released in Autumn 2011.
