Black Eyed Peas Super Bowl Recap - What Did The Critics Think?

Hey guys, I'm Bridget Daly for Clevver Music at our Hollywood studios! The Black Eyed Peas took the stage at Sunday's Super Bowl, but their performance is getting mixed reviews! While come liked the futuristic show from the 50-yard line, others thought it fell short. The Associated Press thought the Peas sounded quote "tentative and tense," adding "maybe Usher should have been the headliner." Ouch! The LA Times wasn't impressed either, asking whether being "three sheets to the wind" was a requirement for enjoying the Halftime Show. Billboard stayed relatively neutral, saying, "gotta love Fergie Ferg, but her voice sounded a little strained. Will.i.am was futuristic swagger but Stacy stumbled a bit." As a huge Fergie fan myself, I thought she looked and sounded fantastic, but I wished I could have just turned up the volume on the master control! Guess audio problems are a dime a dozen when you're dealing with a live performance in an arena as big as Dallas Stadium! We want to know what you think of the Halftime Show! Hey everyone! Welcome to ClevverTV. I'm Dana Ward at our Hollywood headquarters with the Super Bowl halftime show recap. This 2011 championship rocked the Black Eyed Peas as the headliner, starting with I've Got a Feeling and Boom Boom Pow for the highly futuristic stage. It was a heavily choreographed performance and it had to be because there were tons of glow-in-the-dark dancers and band-members gyrating about the stage. We're talking flashing lights, pyro, sparkles and tons of energy, and Slash emerged for some guitar action. The set for Sweet Child O Mine opposite Fergie was fun and fresh. And then the BEP switched it up with Pump It and Let's Get It Started. It was awesome when Usher got lowered down from way up high for OMG in an all-white themed set. The the Black Eyed Peas wrapped it all up with Where is the Love, I've had the Time of my Life and back to Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night, reportedly earning a record for the most songs ever performed during the Super Bowl halftime show. Miley Cyrus hosted SNL over the weekend -- now the only question that remains is, did you think it was pretty cool? The ClevverTV recap is coming up right now! Welcome back to ClevverTV. I'm Joslyn Davis in Hollywood with a quick rewind on Miley Cyrus' first time hosting Saturday Night Live! The 18 year old triple threat opened the show doing what she's most famous for, belting out a song where she listed some of silly controversies she's been linked to and saying sorry she's not perfect. It was funny, and actually very true. Seems like Miley can't catch a break sometimes. The show went on with MC being a part of several funny sketches, including one that was a Beastly parody, which I loved, as well as a whole number making fun of Disney. It was almost like an infomercial of sorts teaching young kids out there how to be a great Disney actor, showing some of the more typical things that you see on Disney shows -- it was really funny and one of the actors played Raven Simone. As expected, Miley did make a cameo on the Miley Cyrus show, where she played Justin Bieber. This was probably the stand-out sketch on SNL -- Miley did a great Justin impression. Her facial expressions and especially her dance moves at the end of sketch were dead-on. In another fun little impression Miley also took on Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. Lots of great moments and considering this marks Miley's first appearance on SNL, we were impressed. What about you guys? I'm your host Dana Ward at the studio. It's always a sad day when a concert gets cancelled, but it's an especially sad day when it involved multiple artists and a charity. Unfortunately, the Concert 4 NYC came to a screetching halt on June 9,, thanks to the lightning in Central Park. Some of the musicians who never made it to the stage include Taylor Swift, the Black Eyed Peas, LL Cool J, Debbie Harry and Natasha Bedingfield. Since it was a show meant to raise awareness and money for the anti-povery organization, the stars seemed to feel especially bad about the cancellations. Taylor tweeted out a sad face about the news while the Peas tweeted that they're devastated, adding that Fergie specifically said she loves all of the fans and she's really sorry. They hope the concert will be rescheduled because the peeps from the Robin Hood Foundation deserve it. So now we're wondering if you think it's even possible for these popular musicians to reconnect for the show. Fingers crossed for sure on this one... That's the latest for now. Well we've heard this rumor before, but it's come back again! Are the Black Eyed Peas breaking up? Well finally they're talking. Fergie and Taboo addressed the media after weeks of speculation that began after they pulled out of the Michael Jackson tribute concert. Fergie told fans via TMZ quote, "We're going on hiatus, yes we're taking a break. But ... it's not a break up." Taboo added, "We took a break before. I believe it was in 2006-2007, when she was doing 'The Duchess.' But we're a family dude, don't believe the hype!" Let's hope they're right! We have a feeling this break is so that Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel can start trying for babies, which is something she's expressed she wants. But what do you think? Will the Peas come back? Così dopo il concerto gratuito previsto per il prossimo 9 giugno al Central Park di New York, la celebre band d'oltreoceano si fermerà per un po' di tempo, tenendosi lontana da appuntamenti e nuove produzioni. "Ci prendiamo una pausa per avere del tempo per ognuno di noi." Queste le parole di Fergie che sicuramente farà uso di quest periodo per passare un po' di tempo in più con il marito Josh Duamel, con cui è sposata da circa due anni. E chissà se tra i due non sia nata l'idea di impiegare il tempo libero per sfornare un bel pargoletto: "Metter su famiglia? Certo, naturalmente, anche se non proprio in questo momento. E comunque non sono incinta." Ma se Stacy Ann Ferguson approfitterà della pausa per godersi il bel maritino, il collega Will.I.Am invece coglierà l'occasione per continuare il suo progetto da solista e portare a termine il primo album che, secondo le prime indiscrezioni, sarà intitiolato Black Einstein. Il disco in questione segnerebbe così il quarto album da solista per Williams J. Adams Jr., decisamente uno dei componenti del gruppo più apprezzati dal pubblico mondiale. Dunque prepariamoci ad un periodo senza gli show e le sonorità dei Black Eyed Peas, sperando che il periodo di pausa, più che legittimo dopo il loro costante successo, duri il meno possibile. 

Black Eyed Peas: Will.I.Am nega lo scioglimento

"Riposino in pace i Black Eyed Peas: ci mancherete molto." Così il rapper d'oltreoceano aveva lanciato la notizia, scioccando, e non poco tutti, gli adepti di Will.I.Am e soci all'idea di non poter più godere delle loro creazioni discografiche. Fortunatamente però a smentire lo scoop, a distanza di pochi giorni, è stato proprio Will.I.Am in persona che tramite la sua pagina Twitter ha voluto rassicurare tutti i fan dichiarando che i Black Eyed Peas non hanno alcuna intenzione di sciogliersi e dunque di abbandonare il loro grande pubblico. "Forse Kanye si è confuso con il fatto che ci siamo presi un meritato periodo di riposo, ma i BEP non moriranno mai." Dunque possiamo tirare un sospiro di sollievo, anche se ormai è da circa due mesi che la formazione statunitense non ci dà notizie sui prossimi progetti discografici, ma da qui ad annunciare lo scioglimento ce ne passa. In ogni caso dopo tredici anni di carriera musicale e sette album tutti degni di un successo strepitoso e mondiale, una piccola pausa di certo non metterà a rischio il futuro della crew hip hop. Speriamo solo che questo periodo di riposo, più che meritato, sia utile alla band per regalarci un nuovo album ricco di sorprese sonore, energia e dello stile ormai inconfondibile di Will.I.Am, Fergie, Taboo e Apl.de.Ap.

The guest list included the likes of Zac Efron, Fergie, Dianna Agron, Darren Criss and many others. Lady Gaga received the night's top honor for being quote a "hero" in the LGBT community. The Trevor Project is something that Miley is very supportive of, and we're digging the sparkly dress she dazzled in on-stage in Hollywood for the organization's big night. What about you?
