Sundance Film Festival gets underway
The 2011 Sundance Film Festival opened this week with the new Beastie Boys film, Fight For Your Right Revisited.
The short film, directed by Adam Yauch, is a follow-up to their classic music video Fight For Your Right (To Party), and stars Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride as the Beastie Boys themselves, with cameos from Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black.
Speaking from the red carpet, Elijah Wood said the all-star cast was a massive draw: "Reilly, Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen - what an absolute dream to work on a Beastie Boy's video. I am a huge, huge fan. To work with those comedians, it was an awesome opportunity," he said.
Police drama The Guard, starring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle, also premiered on opening night.
Directed by first time Irish filmmaker John Michael McDonagh, The Guard tells the story of a village cop who faces off with an FBI agent as he chases down an international drug-smuggling ring.
Don Cheadle said: "I think the difference between small movies and the big movies is that you are here for the love of the game. It is not about the bells and whistles, you are here because you really want to do the work."
Meanwhile, rapper Snoop Dogg added a hip-hop flavour to the Film Festival's opening night, performing on the main street.
Sundance, which takes place in the ski resort town of Park City in Utah, celebrates independent filmmaking and ends on January 30.

We were introduced to the 15 year old actor through JJ Abrams mega movie, Super 8, and now the youngster may be back tracking from futuristic super 8 land, to the classic Mark Twain tale, "Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn." Joel is set to play Tom Sawyer in the film written and directed by Jo Kastner. This will be the FIRST adaptation in almost 20 years...if you remember the last adaptation, a young Elijah Wood played the title role...even though this is only Joel's 2nd movie acting role, we are sure he will knock it out of the park and definitely someone we will be keeping on our radars! "Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn" will begin shooting in Bulgaria in August, and well will be sure to keep you in the loop as we get more info on the flick! Tatiana Carrier with the latest on Hobbit star, Elijah Wood and A recent chat he had about the highly anticipated flick! Now that production has started on Peter Jackson's highly anticipated "Lord of the Rings" prequels, star Elijah Wood is gave our friends at E some details on The Hobbit! . When speaking about the two upcoming flicks, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," and "The Hobbit: There and Back Again," he said, quote, "They're gonna be big....The audience is huge. The anticipation for 'The Hobbit' has been so massive for so long." . Well we knew they were going to be big without him telling us, but exactly HOW big is the question...The last three "Lord of the Rings" movies grossed almost $3 billion worldwide, but Elijah shared that he doesn't see those as any sort of competeion...he said, "I don't even know if they're meaning to outdo them." . Also, as you guys know, Wood's character Frodo Baggins is the star of the lord of the rings trilogy, and has controversially been added to the "Hobbit" prequels, as has Cate Blanchett's character Galadriel, and Orlando Bloom's elf Legolas....Elijah went on to explain how the "LOTR" characters can appear in Jackson's "Hobbit" movies when they weren't in J.R.R. Tolkien's book....he said, QUOTE: "The idea is that there are things actually happening historically at the same time the story of 'The Hobbit' is taking place, they just weren't written in 'The Hobbit...They were written in appendices and external pieces...that's kind of where a lot of that is coming from." . He went on to reassure the audiences that it WORKS despite speculation, he said, "It's going to feel like a nice transitional piece....I'm excited about it. I can't wait." . "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" will open December 14, 2012. "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" will follow on December 13, 2013. Breaking Dawn: Robert e Taylor, alzi la mano chi è gay
http://www.gay10.it/breaking-dawn-robert-e-taylor-alzi-la-mano-chi-e-gay-501.html E' appena uscito nelle sale italiane "Breaking Dawn" l'ultimo film della saga di Twilight tratto dal quarto romanzo di Stephenie Meyer e pubblicato il 2 agosto negli Stati Uniti e il 30 ottobre in Italia. Ma non è l'uscita del film la notizia che fa più scalpore. Infatti corre voce ormai da tempo che uno degli attori protagonisti della suddetta epopea sia costretto, a causa di un vincolo contrattuale imposto dalla produzione, a non poter rivelare la sua ormai palese omosessualità. Questo obbligo vincolerebbe l'attore a non poter fare coming-out almeno finchè non sarà uscita l'ultimo film della serie Twilight. I due divi di Hollywood già si erano esibiti in un bacio gay che scioccò le folle agli Mtv Movie Awards, ma al tempo sembrò un gioco...cma ora, viste queste insistenti voci di corridoio, le ipotesi sulla possibilità che uno dei due -se non entrambi- sian effettivamente gay sono aumentate. Tutti si chiedono di chi si possa trattare, forse il giovane vampiro Robert Pattinson, oppure il bel lupo mannaro Taylor Lautner. Chi lo sa.. L'unica cosa certa è che in ogni caso ci sarà qualche giovane fan che rimarrà delusa -- ma crediamo che in compenso ci sarà anche qualche giovane ragazzo che sarà molto contento! Ma molto sospetti sono anche Kellan Lutz e Jackson Rathbone, che sono in effetti protagonisti di questo ultimo episodio, quindi il presunto gay potrebbe essere uno di loro... Non mancano le battute fra i nostri protagonisti che si stuzzicano a suon di dichiarazioni alla stampa. Dice Pattinson del suo collega lupo "No, credo che si stia vedendo con un altro dei lupi del branco. Anzi, credo che stia uscendo con Elijah Wood" per poi scherzare e scusarsi con il collega "È solo uno scherzo che facciamo fra noi, scusami Taylor!" e Taylor ribatte a un reporter: "Io gay? E chi l'avrebbe detto? Vieni nella mia stanza stanotte e ti faccio vedere"
