2011 Grammy Winner Predictions

It's that time again, The Staple Center is going to light up for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, and I've got my predictions right now. Album of the Year Arcade Fire, The Suburbs Eminem, Recovery Lady Antebellum, Need You Now Lady Gaga, The Fame Monster Katy Perry, Teenage Dream Like every year it's a close call. The Grammy's are the hardest award show to predict, and its known for another band to come out from underneath to take the win. In this category Katie Perry's Teenage Dream was an absolute hit, but I don't think it has enough pull a win, however its going to make an amazing greatest hits album. Eminem's Recovery, made my eyes open. It's the typical comeback story which people are suckers for like myself. He got a lot of attention recently, he's up for 10 nominations, Dr. Dre produced the album, and there's been a lot of commercial appeal. Plus Dre and Em are going to be performing at the Grammy's for the first time in over a decade!!! Arcade Fire was great, but I'm going to go with Recovery for the Win only because I love Eminiem, but I'm a sucker for a come back. Record of the Year B.o.B (featuring Bruno Mars), "Nothin' on You" Cee Lo Green, "F--- You" Eminem (featuring Rihanna), "Love the Way You Lie" Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, "Empire State of Mind" Lady Antebellum, "Need You Now" Nothin' on You" went to #1, but it's not even B.o.B's most popular song; "Love the Way You Lie"; and "Empire State Of Mind" reached the peak of its popularity way back when I'm Thinking "Need You Now is going to win. Because you can't have a country song NOT win in the big 4. Plus all of Nashville will get pissed! Song of the Year Cee Lo Green, "F--- You" Eminem (featuring Rihanna), "Love the Way You Lie" Lady Antebellum, "Need You Now" Miranda Lambert, "The House That Built Me" Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs, "Beg Steal or Borrow" This category has Love the Way you Lie written all over it. Remember I said I was an Eminem fan right? His album came out at the right time, and it was a great comeback. Plus it's all about the lyrics in the category and Em is known for some sick lyrics. Best New Artist Drake Esperanza Spalding Florence and the Machine Justin Bieber Mumford & Sons Esperanza Spalding, is out because I don't think a lot of people have heard of her. Drake sold a lot of albums, and might take the win, but my gut is telling me no. Florence and the Machine have the skills, she's female (which grammy voters love) but I'm not convinced. Mumford & Sons don't have enough traction in the US yet but will eventually get there. Which leaves us with Justin Bieber...the only thing holding him back is his age. If he does not win its because people feel he has enough time to make up for it. However I have bieber fever...he's truly a talented kid, so my prediction is Justin Bieber. Eminem's New Video "We made You" : Too funny or just dumb?
Eminem's New Video "We made You" : Too funny or just dumb? If you thought Rap music was all about being sexy and serious, think again because Rap music and it's fans just got something big to smile about. Hey guys. I'm Joslyn Davis for Clevver TV coming to you from the heart of Beverly Hills. Rap megastar Eminem's newest music video for his track "We Made You" proves that while he is obviously talented on the microphone, he might be even better at dropping bombs in his music videos. AND Regardless of whether or not you're a fan, the video will definitely leave you laughing out loud. The video is a play on VH1's show "Rock of Love," which stars aging rocker Brett Michaels. Em takes on the role of Michaels in a series of scenes featuring parodied versions of Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, and even good old Sarah Palin. In an industry where most people seem to keep their opinions to themselves, Eminem admits that he mean to openly bash his fellow celebs. In an interview with MTV, Mr. Mathers confirmed that the shots he took in the video were completely deliberate. Apparently Jessica Simpson isn't too fond of the video-which is isn't all that surprising. After all, the depiction of her is what we'd call flattering. Kim Kardashian though, thinks the video is hilarious. No word yet on what Li-Lo, Amy Winehouse and Brett Michael or the other celebs think of their depictions. Also making real cameos in the new vid are Dr. Dre and Fiddy Cent. It might be worth watching the video just to see Dr. Dre in a Star Trek outfit. Needless to say, there is a lot of action going on here and it's hard to follow at times, but ONE THING IS FORE SURE. "We made You" is absolutely hilarious and definitely worth viewing. Even Bill O'Reilly is weighing in on the video saying that Em "represents the lowest form of entertainment in this country and is a publicity hound to boot." That comment alone proves the vid is a must watch. Let us know what you think of the video and what your favorite part is. There's a slight dip down to the number 3 spot, occupied by Kanye West with $16 million. Not bad. Forbes writes, "Fueled by the tail end of his 'Blueprint 3' Tour and a vast portfolio of business interests, Jay-Z barely edged second-ranked Diddy-who raked in $35 million, roughly half of that total coming from a lucrative partnership with Ciroc vodka-but handily topped West. But head of branding firm Translation Steve Stout says it's all about Jay and 'Ye these days. He explained, "Jay-Z and Kanye are hip-hop ambassadors. Best Music Videos 2011 -- 10 Through 6

It's the end of the year, so that means it's time for a bunch of countdowns looking back at all the amazing things that have happened this year. Right now we're going to countdown the top 10 music videos of 2011. Let's get started with numbers 10 through 6. At number 10 the Doctor is back. "I need a Doctor" Featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey is a chilling video that is almost 8 minutes long. Filled with flashbacks and home videos of Dre's life it starts out with him getting in an accident, forcing him onto life support with Eminem singing to him. It ends with him coming back stronger than ever proving that Dr. Dre still has it. Coming in at number 9 we have Beyonce's "Countdown." We cannot get enough of this video. It features a pregnant, but still stunning Beyonce. We are totally feeling the throw back to 50's era styling down to the fashion and dancing. There is so much going on that you have to watch this at least a few times to catch everything, and even on repeat we don't get sick of it. At number 8 we have "All of the Lights" by Kanye West. Now this video is so intense that it has even been forced to have a seizure warning before it starts! But still the beginning shots in black and white are stunning, and we love the modern twist of the graphics that oddly looks vintage as well. Now at number 7 we have another star that uses black and white for its powerful affects. Adele's "Someone Like You" is hauntingly beautiful by itself, but pair it with her video and it's captivating. Yes, it's a simple premise with just a moving camera following her around, but you can see and feel the emotion radiating from the screen. And finishing off this half of the countdown, at number 6 we have Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass." This song was huge this year and we loved the video. Filled with pink everything, this video was super fun. And we totally loved the dance number between her and her back-up Nickis which reminded us of 90's grunge girl group. And our favorite part comes at the end, because who doesn't love a good black light effect, right? Well that finishes up the first half of the countdown! What did you guys think? Right now we're going to countdown the top 10 music videos of 2011. Let's get started with numbers 10 through 6. At number 10 the Doctor is back. "I need a Doctor" Featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey is a chilling video that is almost 8 minutes long. Filled with flashbacks and home videos of Dre's life it starts out with him getting in an accident, forcing him onto life support with Eminem singing to him. It ends with him coming back stronger than ever proving that Dr. Dre still has it. Coming in at number 9 we have Beyonce's "Countdown." We cannot get enough of this video. It features a pregnant, but still stunning Beyonce. We are totally feeling the throw back to 50's era styling down to the fashion and dancing. There is so much going on that you have to watch this at least a few times to catch everything, and even on repeat we don't get sick of it. At number 8 we have "All of the Lights" by Kanye West. Now this video is so intense that it has even been forced to have a seizure warning before it starts! But still the beginning shots in black and white are stunning, and we love the modern twist of the graphics that oddly looks vintage as well. Now at number 7 we have another star that uses black and white for its powerful affects. Adele's "Someone Like You" is hauntingly beautiful by itself, but pair it with her video and it's captivating. Yes, it's a simple premise with just a moving camera following her around, but you can see and feel the emotion radiating from the screen. And finishing off this half of the countdown, at number 6 we have Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass." This song was huge this year and we loved the video. Filled with pink everything, this video was super fun. And we totally loved the dance number between her and her back-up Nickis which reminded us of 90's grunge girl group. And our favorite part comes at the end, because who doesn't love a good black light effect, right? Well that finishes up the first half of the countdown! What did you guys think? Coachella, the most anticipated music festival of the year, wrapped up Weekend 1 in Indio, California, with an unforgettable performance starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The rappers took their joint performance to the next level when they were joined by Tupac? fellow West Coast rapper who was killed in 1996?in hologram form. Tupac digitally performed with Snoop and Dre, performing "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" and "Gangsta Party."
Along with Tupac, Snoop and Dr. Dre put on their thrilling outro to the music fest with multiple guest stars including Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Warren G. Helping Dre and Snoop win over the crowd was a brilliantly designed stage setup, including an ever-changing video screen in the back and faux power lines.
Two of our favorite stars, Rihanna and Katy Perry, were spotted enjoying Coachella's party scene, along with new hair styles. Katy debuted new purple locks, while Rihanna went back to her classic black hair, adorned with red lipstick. What do you think of Katy's purple hair? Now that Weekend 2 of 'Twincella' has wrapped, the fascination and speculation over the virtual resurrection of Tupac via hologram during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's set at Coachella has come to an end. The question still remained whether or not Dre and Snoop are planning a tour featuring the virtual Tupac, but Dre has finally chimed in and halted all the rumors.
Ever since Coachella music fest's Weekend 1, the media has been buzzing over a rumored concert tour featuring hologrammed Tupac. And according to the doctor, there isn't going to be a Tour de Tupac- at least there isn't one in the works as of now. Dre said quote, "It was strictly for Coachella, get it right. I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour."
Last week Dre spoke to TMZ about the so-called "hologram", "I'm not sure right now, [there's] a technology that's happening where the hologram could be 360 degrees," Dre said, adding, "Right now it's flat, it just looks like it's 3-dimensional from the front, but I'm working on some new and different things for the future." The origins of the rumors could have come straight from Dre, whom has now put out those flames.
One major deterrent for producing a full concert tour featuring virtual Tupac could be the cost. The two-song cameo at Coachella cost six figures alone. There's no doubt that the fans would support this tour, if @HologramTupac, the Twitter handle created by a fan for the hologrammed Tupac, is any indication.
