Deerhunter est un groupe de rock expérimental formé à Atlanta en 2001, concentré autour de la personnalité tourmentée du chanteur-guitariste Bradford Cox.
Leur musique, d'abord inspirée du punk, du rock garage et du noise rock avec leur premier album Turn It Up Faggot (2005), s'est ensuite tournée vers des influences plus larges et maîtrisées (post-punk, ambient, rock psychédélique) sur Cryptograms en 2007.
Microcastle (2008) confirme l'orientation pop prise par Deerhunter, en dévoilant probablement leurs chansons les plus apaisées musicalement (concentrés de shoegazing et de dream pop), mais toujours traversées par les angoisses de Bradford Cox, leader dont on peut également entendre les obsessions sur son projet solo Atlas Sound.

The film highlights design duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy's spring 2011 collection, which drew inspiration from 1970s northern California, referencing Redwood forests, the gold rush and Asian influences. The Somewhere star pirouettes through the empty rooms of the historic Baldwin House (which sits on an oil field in LA's Baldwin Hills), her outfits magically changing from one room to the next. Shot on a RED camera using Cooke lenses from the 70s, the short's dusty focus references seminal movies of that era, such as Terrence Malick's Badlands, while Georgia-based indie rockers Deerhunter provide the dreamy soundtrack.
