In January 2010, following a few years of contemplative and productive silence, Culprit 1 kicks off the new decade by returning to the musical fray with the appropriately-titled single Screamer - taken from his forthcoming second album on Exceptional Records.

Culprit 1 has been affectionately labelled the DJ Shadow of Wales by none other than Radio 1s uber-DJ Annie Mac and was originally discovered and signed by Radio 1s Huw Stephens. He is equally at home in an electronic beat-driven environment as he is in the contemporary classical genre, bringing a revelatory aspect to his wide-ranging musical output. Screamer was created on little more than a beaten-up hardware sampler and iMac over the course of an overcast autumn afternoon in Roath, Cardiff. It has proved to be a fan favourite in Culprit 1s rare live performances thanks to its extraordinary amalgamation of frenzied drums, hectic percussion and filthy analogue synths.

The Three Drummers Mix was recorded live in West London, with Culp triggering live electronics alongside a trio of stick-wielding musical buddies determined to generate a cacophonous symphony of percussion. Loosely-based on Screamers unique structure, each drummer donned a different set-up (regular kit, tom-toms and cymbals) to create a visceral and unusual re-reading of the original track. The Planas remix meanwhile, is a sumptuous and beautiful piece of downtempo electronic music. Immaculately produced, the track is an organic concoction of luscious pads, addictive acid line and rolling bass.

Since the release of Culprit 1s warmly-received debut album Running in Order, the producer has remixed an eclectic array of artists including Kaiser Chiefs, The Automatic and Orbitals Paul Hartnoll.

To date the band have built their own recording studio, independently released 3 EPs, 2 IRMA charted singles and have had two music videos produced.

The band consist of the enigmatic lead singer and front man Michael Joyce, guitarist Paul Farrell, bassist Dave Connelly, drummer Pawel Bebenca and keys/programmer Keith Gamble.

Like most bands today, the boys have wide and varied musical influences, ranging from The Who and The Stone Roses, Oasis to DJ Shadow and The Specials. Each band member has tried to contribute from their own personal influences to mould the Moebius sound, which we believe has International appeal.

Displaying that old punk ethos of D.I.Y., the band relocated to Poland and self financed the production of the album and have worked with Marcin Limek and Piotr Matysiak, two established and respected Polish music producers. Recorded in the Nintysixproject Studios, the band have crafted an album that has intensity, aggressiveness and attitude, while in equal measure lilts into more melodic, melancholic and upbeat moments.

Upon returning from recording the album in Poland, Moebius have been busy rehearsing the new material from the album and have played some notable gigs, including the very first PKO BP Festival held at the mighty Wembley Arena.

Other notable highlights for the band were appearances at both Castlepalooza and Cork Fringe Festivals, a highly successful single launch in the Sugar Club as well as all the top venues in Dublin City to their ever increasing loyal fan base.
