There was a general assumption that the body artwork on her right upper back area was real. Selena sat down with Z100 Portland and discussed it. She explained that it's a henna tattoo, it's temporary, and it's her nickname. Specifically, she said that she chose "Sel" because that's what everyone on the tour calls her, and she is obviously on her tour currently. In addition to the Sel text, the tattoo also consists of a bunch of stars and overall, it's "cool" and that's according to the star herself!
