Muntz (Christopher Plummer). He is saddened to learn, however, that Muntz has been accused of fabricating the skeleton of a giant bird he had claimed to have discovered in Paradise Falls, South America. Muntz vows to return there to capture one alive. One day, Carl befriends an energetic tomboy named Ellie (Elizabeth Docter), who is also a Muntz fan. She confides to Carl her desire to move her "clubhouse"?an abandoned house in the neighborhood?to a cliff overlooking Paradise Falls, making him promise to help her. Carl and Ellie eventually get married and grow old together in the restored house, working as a toy balloon vendor and a zookeeper, respectively. Unable to have children, they repeatedly pool their savings for a trip to Paradise Falls, but end up spending it on more pressing needs. An elderly Carl finally arranges for the trip, but Ellie suddenly becomes ill and dies, leaving him alone. Rate and comment please...

The cast of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo hits New York
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: The cast of the American version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" have hit the States to celebrate the opening of their new film.
Actors Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara hit the red carpet in New York to promote the movie based on Swedish author Stieg Larsson's first novel in the collection of The Millennium Trilogy.
Tales of avenging sexual violence against women and mystery play out in the movie that stars Craig as a journalist trying to crack the case of a missing woman. Newcomer Rooney Mara plays Lisbeth Salander, a computer hacker who tries to help Craig's character, Mikael Blomkvist, solve the mystery.
Craig, who first read the book when it came out, has always been a fan of the story.
Mara said the popularity of the books and her character Lisbeth didn't intimidate her from taking the role.
On the red carpet British actress Joely Richardson, who plays Anita Vanger in the movie, admitted that the books aren't normally what she reads, but understands the hype surrounding the publications.
For acting veteran Christopher Plummer, the book was all he needed in order to get into character.
The movie was shot on location in Stockholm and in the Swedish countryside, which gave Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard a welcomed and added responsibility.
Before heading into the screening of the film, Mara confessed that she hadn't seen the movie yet, saying that she would prefer to see the film while relaxed and free of pressure.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" opens in the U.S. on December 14.

2012 Oscar Nominations: Predictions
Full Oscar Nominees List http://bit.ly/zwmLDW http://bit.ly/clevvermovies - Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies - Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies - Follow Us! Hello & welcome to psychic readings by tati! Clevver movies has brought me in for a special task... I am here to PREDICT The Oscar winners!!! Waiittt...waiiitt...im getting something!... . Best Actor -- I think it's between George Clooney for 'The Descendants' and Jean Dujardin for "The Artist". They both went home with Golden Globes and both have SAG award nominations. I think whoever wins the SAG award will end up being the frontrunner, but Tati's money is on Jean Dujardin. . Best Supporting Actor -- I think this one is going to Christopher Plummer, hands, feet and paws down... He's only been nominated once (for 2010's The Last Station) and he's a legend in the industry. . Best Actress -- this ones a BIT blurry...but I think this will go to Meryl Streep. Although I really want Michelle Williams to take it home...Streep seems to have the momentum right now with her Golden Globes win, but who knows, Williams could definitely give her a run for her money. I think the SAG awards this weekend will give a clear frontrunner, but I think it will definitely be a battle between two actresses playing real people. . Best Supporting Actresses -- Octavia Spencer is probably the frontrunner here, and I TRULY hope she snags that gold guy...but I have a feeling Bérénice Bejo could end up taking it for The Artist. . Best Animated Feature Film -- this is also a tough one. I thought Tintin would be the frontrunner, but because it wasn't even nominated, I think this could go to one of the unknowns. Most likely A Cat In Paris. I think the big budget Hollywood animated films fell short this year... . Best Picture -- I think this one is between The Artist and The Descendants. They each took home a Golden Globe and have been getting tons of nominations. I think in the end though, it will be The Artist's night. . SO there you have it, you have officially been given a full proof reading by tati? Thanks so much for watching and don't forget to chime in and leave YOUR predictions below!!! Im Tatiana carrier for clevver movies, we will see you next time!

The Oscars are just a few days away, and ofcourse, we have our Ballot pool predictions, and we want YOU to weigh in! Hey everyone, thanks so much for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host tatiaana carrier!
.
Now, we did an Oscar prediction show when the noms were announced (cut to that footage), but since then, other award shows have come and gone, giving us a little more insight as to who will take home OSCAR! Here is what we think for each major category!
.
Best Picture: Early on, this was a battle between the two films with the most nominations, Hugo and The Artist. With several wins at other big award shows, we think The Artist is the hands down favorite to take the prize.
.
Leading Actor: This will be one of the toughest races to predict for the evening. It's currently a dead heat between George Clooney's role in The Descendant and Jean Dujardin in The Artist. George Clooney is Hollywood's golden boy, but already has an Oscar for his role in 2006's Syriana, so it's for this reason that we are putting our money on Jean Dujardin to win.
.
Leading Actress: This is another heated battle between Viola Davis in The Help and Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady. One of Meryl Streep's biggest negatives is the fact that she's so well respected. She's been nominated a total of 17 times since 1979 and most people think she has a house filled with statues, despite only actually having two wins with her last being in 1983 for Sophie's Choice. Another negative for her is the fact that she was in a movie that has not been as well received as The Help. We think Meryl will have to wait a little bit longer for her third Oscar as this one will be going to Viola Davis.
.
Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer will win for Beginners. This seems like a no brainer for us.
Supporting Actress: Not much competition in this category either. The award will most likely go to Octavia Spencer for The Help. Though some believe an upset from the likes of The Artist's Berenice Bejo or Melissa McCarthy for Bridesmaid are possibilities if Octavia's votes get split with her co-star Jessica Chastain, we just don't think that will happen. It will be a good night for the ladies of The Help.
.
Animated Feature: Early on, we predicted a win for one of the smaller nominated films - either A Cat In Paris or Chico & Rita. Though this may still happen, we think Rango has gained some momentum the last few weeks and will take home the top prize.
.
Directing: Despite early support for Martin Scorsese to take home his second Best Director Oscar, Michel Hazanavicius' recent Directors Guild of America Award win places him as the frontrunner to take home the Oscar.
.
Adapted Screenplay: With its recent Writers Guild Award, The Descendants should take home this category as a runner-up prize for losing Best Picture.
.
Original Screenplay: Woody Allen most likely won't be showing up to the awards show, so we'll have to wait and see who accepts the prize, because he's definitely getting the win.
.
So what do you guys think of our picks? You guys can see our full list by checking out our blog and also, make sure you chime in below! You cant have a pool without other ppl sounding off, so leave those comment! Thanks so much for watching, we will see you next time!

So without further ado, here are the winners of the 2012 Academy Awards!!!
.
Best Actress in A lead Role: Viola Davis for The Help. Viola has been a faithful woman to the world of acting, but it wasnt until her breakout role in the help where hollywood and YOU started paying attention. We are thinking this wont be the last oscar for ms. davis!
.
Best Actor in A lead Role:Jean DuJardin, for his role in The Artist...This category was a toughie...but in the end, Jean Dujardin came out victorious with the silent movie that had everyone in hollywood talking!
.
Best Actress in A supporting Role: Octavia Spencer for her role in The Help. This one was well deserved and in my opinion, one of the highlights of the oscars. Her acceptance speech was full of emotion and real...not to mention, she made a funny--- "Thank you, Academy, for putting me with the hottest guy in the room..." We are all looking forward to seeing more of octavia on the big screen.
.
Best Actor in A supporting Role: Christopher Plummer for his role in Beginners. We knew plummer would take this one from the moment he was announced as a nominee. He is the oldest man to take home an oscar, and even made a joke about it....he turned to his oscar and said, "You're only two years older than me, darling. Where have you been all my life?" congrats to a true talent!
.
And finally LAST but certainly NOT least, the winner for best picture: The artist!!! We saw the artist sweep at the golden globes, the spirit awards, well, lets be honest, The Artist swept it all...The silent movie that could made noise in hollywood and around the world without saying a word. This silent movie was real, heartwarming, and took a unique approach to movie making that captured the heart of movie buffs and obvously the academy. Congratulations to The Artist, 2012 BEST PICTURE!
