'The Hangover Part 2' Has Record Breaking Opening Weekend

Find out which film it had to beat to take the top spot. Hey guys, Amanda Janner here for Clevver Movies with your box office recap. This Memorial Day weekend The Hangover Part 2 scored the best box office opening of all time -- for a comedy at the domestic box office, that is. The sequel scored the highest box office earnings of any R-rated film in its first five days. Part two debuted last Thursday, banking $137.4 million through Monday. And with that, the Warner Bros. film took the lead from another Warners heavy-hitter , The Matrix Reloaded, which earned 134.3 million its first five days. Although, to be fair, the Matrix didn't open Memorial Day weekend and it opened on a Wednesday evening, so it didn't have a full five days. Reloaded still holds the crown for the best weekend opening for an R-rated movie, with 91.8 million, compared to the Hangover's 86 mil. But The Hangover Part 2 is sitting pretty at the box office, with the fourth-best opening ever for a Memorial Day weekend debut. Not only is the film smashing records, but also proving comedies can grab hold of summer audiences. Studios typically turn to Superhero franchises for summer blockbusters -- which, usually isn't a bad way to go. Globally the Hangover raked in nearly $200 million -- pretty good numbers for a film that cost $80 million to produce. All The Hangover's success has us wondering...could there be a Hangover Part 3 on the way? Director Todd Phillips leaves that possibility open with a "We'll see." He adds, "It's about audience's desire to see it, and how well this one does." Star Bradley Cooper shows a little caution, saying "We don't want to get ahead of ourselves. There's no rush." Uncharted Movie Gets New Director

Welcome back to Clevver Games I'm your host Andrea Rene here with the latest on the Uncharted movie. Development had been stalled due to a creative disagreement between Sony and director David O. Russell. Not to mention the fan uprising after Mark Wahlber was cast the Uncharted hero Nathan Drake. . Well Russell is out and now there is a new director, Neil Burger. He will be at the helm of the entire movie, writing and directing. Burger recently directed the Bradley Cooper flick "Limitless" and is eager to start work on "Drake's Fortune." PlayStation is hoping that the Uncharted series could turn into their very own Indiana Jones. . The story is based on the first game of course and will follow Drake, a descendant of Sir Francis Drake who is on a quest with his buddy Sully for the lost treasure of El Dorado. The Uncharted series has been commercially successful, despite being a Playstation exclusive. The third chapter Drake's Deception, as you guys know, hits store on November 11th. This movie marks the first of the Playstation 1st party titles to be converted into a movie. . I know what you guys are thinking, is Markie Mark still involved? Well, that part is unclear. Obviously Wahlberg and David O. Russell worked closely together on his Academy Award nominated hit 'The Fighter' so there is no telling if he'll jump off the Uncharted ship or not. J.Lo was on stage surrounded by background dancers who looked just like her exes-- Diddy, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony as part of the performance. Lopez said, "I took a trip down memory lane," before running off the stage. She also got upset during another point of the show right after If You Had My Love, asking the audience, "What is love? As the last song I wrote about love ... a lot has changed since then." And speaking of love, we've been hearing rumors she's moved on to Bradley Cooper!
