T-Swift just wrapped up with what's turned out to be a 13 month tour in New Zealand, and we're getting word that new music from the Grammy-award winning artist is in the works. According to MTV, TI, who shared the stage with Taylor not too long ago, has actually heard one of her new songs, which is with BoB. About the track, TI said this: "I heard it. Taylor's extended Hustle Gang. She's a part of the crew." And it was actually Taylor who initiated the team-up when she was in Atlanta. This hip-hop-pop-country crossover is likely to have fans across all genres excited and we're wondering what this collaboration and her recent song with The Civil Wars could signal for Taylor's next full-length release. Taylor Swift goes hip hop in a new collaboration with B.o.B on a song titled "Both Of Us," and we've got the breakdown. We brought you word on a Swift-Bob team-up a few weeks ago and now we're getting a listen at the final product which will be included on B.o.b's next album, "Strange Clouds." The innovative artist came into the limelight with his last album and based on this track, it's evident that fans will not be disappointed. "Both Of Us" kicks off with Taylor's signature vocals as she sings "I wish I was strong enough to lift not one but both us/Some day I will be strong enough to lift not one but both of us." Immediately following this opener, B.o.B takes over with his one-of-a-kind rap-sing style saying "Ever thought about losing it/when your money's all gone and you lose your whip/you might lose your grip when the landlord tell ya that your due for rent/and the grass so green on the other side." B goes on to rap about struggles that people all over the world are facing as he says, "open up the fridge 'bout 20 times but you still can't find no food in it...." As the song progresses, it takes a turn and becomes an anthem for the underdogs out there who are really struggling every day to make it, as evidenced by this line in the song: but if it's all for one and one for all, then maybe one day we can all ball. Do it one time for the underdogs sincerely yours from one of yall."
In the second verse of the song, B.o.B changes that lyric to say "from Bobby Ray to all of y'all." Throughout the entire track, we hear Taylor singing the chorus. The song is touching and uplifting despite the fact that it's about going through hardships. Some might say this team-up is surprising, but B.o.B is known for breaking the mold. His song with Paramour front-lady Haley Williams stopped the music world dead in its tracks and we think this song will likely do the same. As we all know, Justin is buys at work on his next full-length release titled "Believe," on which he's been working with and collaborating with several different artists and producers. Now thanks to MTV, we have a definite yes on a Taylor Swift cameo on J-B's release. We don't know whether or not T's voice will be featured, however Justin did reveal that he and the country star did write a song together, which he said is a great indication of how the whole album ranges differently. Justin, who has already proven that he's down to change it up, as evidenced by his singing-rapping style on "Boyfriend," added that QUOTE: With my music, it doesn't only stay in a box. It's so out there. Everything is so different and that's why I'm so happy with this album. This kind of has us wondering whether or not this Swift-Bieber track could have a country vibe? Nick McFRE$H - Airplanes (Feat. Britney Parks of The Gamer Access) - PAX East 2012
Covering a gaming event such as PAX East 2012 is no easy task. With days of planning, executing, and editing involved, if you are able to get more than 4-5 hours of sleep a night, you are lucky. While our schedule was fulfilled nearly minute-to-minute capturing interviews and receiving hands-on demos for titles releasing later this year, the last day of the show we had some time to hit the stage and perform in front of an audience using Rock Band 3.
As one who is not a fan of the Rock Band franchise, the only way I would agree to getting on the stage and performing in front of many attendees was if we chose a song that was up my alley, a song that fits within the hip hop genre. We agreed on the hit single "Airplanes" from B.o.B where I take on the role of B.o.B, Britney takes on Hayley Williams of Paramore, and Ashton takes on the role of the drummer.
