AS you guys may already know, The Evil Dead remake recently lost its star as Lily Collins was forced to drop out due to scheduling issues, but now, we learn through deadline that Jane Levy is in talks to replace her. If Levy takes the role, she will play Mia, a drug addict holed up in a cabin trying to detox, but finds herself with three other kids and an evil book that lets out demons that possess them.

Also, in other casting couch news, according to Variety Shiloh Fernandez from Red Riding Hood is set to star in the film, which is an update of the 1981 horror film which centered on a group of teens holed up in a remote cabin who discover the Book of the Dead. In addition to Fernandez, Jane Levy is in talks to play the lead in the remake of Evil Dead that Fede Alvarez will direct shortly. She replaces Lily Collins, who exited the film recently. Levy is the star of the ABC series Suburgatory, and stars in Fun Size, the Josh Schwartz-directed film for Paramount.

The remake will be consistant with the same central plot of the original, but Bruce Campbell's character of Ash will not appear. As we get more plot and cast details we will be sure to keep you posted!
