Après avoir suivi une formation en archivistique et histoire contemporaine, Fanny Lautissier est actuellement doctorante au sein du Laboratoire d'histoire visuelle contemporaine (Lhivic, EHESS), sous la direction de Christian Delage. Sa recherche porte sur la mémoire et l'histoire des conflits dans le cinéma israélien.

Le long métrage d'animation "Valse avec Bachir" (2008), du réalisateur israélien Ari Folman, est un récit semi-biographique sur des expériences individuelles de la guerre du Liban et du massacre de Sabra et Chatila. Fanny Lautissier revient sur la fusion des codes du documentaire et de la fiction, les modalités du récit d'un traumatisme, et l'imbrication des contextes mémoriels et historiques liés à la guerre.

European Film Academy announced in Seville, Spain on Sunday that Israeli filmmaker Ari Folman's "Waltz with Bashir" has been nominated in four categories in the upcoming European Film Awards. Also up for two awards is the film "Lemon Tree" with director Eran Riklis and Palestinian writing partner Suha Arraf facing off against Folman for best screenplay, and Hiam Abbas nominated for best actress. The 21st annual European Film Awards will be held on December 6th in Copenhagen, with awards bestowed in eight categories. 11/10/08

The International Documentary Association named "Waltz with Bashir" best feature-length documentary of the year last Thursday. The animated film describes director Ari Folman's efforts to fill in the gaps in his memories of his military service during the First Lebanon War. Two days earlier the film also won a European Film Academy award. While it had been nominated for best picture, best director, best screenplay and best original score, it won only for best score, for the music composed by Max Richter. 12/08/08

Ari, metteur en scène israélien, rencontre un ami en proie à des cauchemars récurrents où il se retrouve pourchassé par une meute de 26 chiens. 26, exactement le nombre de chiens qu'il a dû tuer au cours de la guerre du Liban. Le lendemain, Ari, retrouve un souvenir de cette période. Lui-même, jeune soldat, se baigne devant Beyrouth. Il éprouve alors le besoin de découvrir la vérité et décide, pour y parvenir, d'aller interviewer à travers le monde quelques-uns de ses anciens compagnons d'armes.
