Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta, Ninja Assassin), the film also stars Alice Eve (Sex and the City 2), Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster). When a mother and daughter are found brutally murdered in 19th century Baltimore, Detective Emmett Fields (Luke Evans) makes a startling discovery: the crime resembles a fictional murder described in gory detail in the local newspaper?part of a collection of stories penned by struggling writer and social pariah Edgar Allan Poe. But even as Poe is questioned by police, another grisly murder occurs, also inspired by a popular Poe story. Realizing a serial killer is on the loose using Poe's writings as the backdrop for his bloody rampage, Fields enlists the author's help in stopping the attacks. But when it appears someone close to Poe may become the murderer's next victim, the stakes become even higher and the inventor of the detective story calls on his own powers of deduction to try to solve the case before it's too late. Peter Weller to co-star in the Star Trek Sequel....Hey Everyone, thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Your number one source for movie news! Im Tatiana carrier with the latest from Star Trek, the sequel. . Well, its official! According to our friends at Variety, J.J. Abrams has tapped veteran thesp Peter Weller for the ensemble cast of Paramount's upcoming "Star Trek" sequel. We still don't have the specifics on Wellers role, but we do know that his choice came after he chose a character, Alice Eve, who we think is a newbie to the bunch. . As we have previously reported, the main cast roster is made up of stars from the previous installment including chris pine, Zachary quinto, and just added, Benicio del Toro as villain! . Abrams is directing from a script by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. Production is expected to start in early 2012 with Paramount planning to release the highly anticipated film on May 17, 2013. . According to Deadline, British film actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in a lead role in the film. No word yet on whether he'll be a hero or villain, but many in the industry are speculating that he will play the lead villain in the film. If this is true, rumors that the villain for the second installment of the reboot would be the infamous "Khan", originally played by Ricardo Montalban in the original series and 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, are most likely false, unless Abrams decides to take Khan in a much different direction this go round. Cumberbatch has gained recent attention playing the title role in the hit BBC series Sherlock and landed high-profile roles in Oscar potential films War Horse and Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy. He will next be seen, or at least heard, voicing the roles of Smaug the Dragon and The Necromancer in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit films. . Another actor to join the cast is Cumberbatch's fellow Brit, Noel Clarke, who you may know best from his role as "Mickey Smith" in that other popular BBC series, Doctor Who. Clarke will reportedly play a family man, with a wife and daughter. Not much to go on from that description, but let's hope he doesn't end up being a crewmember with a red shirt. We all know what happens to those guys. . Clarke and cumberbatch joins fellow Brit Alice Eve and Peter Weller in the film's cast, while Edgar Ramirez and Jordi Molla were, last we heard, fighting it out to replace Benicio Del Toro as the film's villain, who may or may not be Khan. With the addition of Cumberbatch to the cast, we'll have to wait and see if there's still a role to be had. . Either way we will find out soon enough as shooting is set to begin later this month! E! caught up with Quinto to talk about the much anticipated sci fi follow up and he dished on his new look... . He said, "My eyebrows are shaved and I do my hair in a way that people don't know I actually have my horrible Spock hair...he went on to say, It's been really great...We've been shooting for a week and a half, and it's been an incredible return to that world." . He also mentioned that he had no idea what the story line was until right before they started shooting...he said, "They waited a pretty long time (to show us the script), but that's because they were working on it. There was a writer's strike the first time so they weren't able to let the script evolve. Now it's really changing...on a regular basis." . And as far as the new additions to the cast, Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Weller and Alice Eve he had nothing but nice things to say...he said, All of them have folded in so beautifully and brought a whole new level of intelligence and sensitivity." .
