Will Ferrel is going back to the newsroom and channeling his inner ron burgundy! Yep we are talking about the anchorman sequel and we have the details!

Great Odin's Raven! Will Ferrell took to Conan last night dressed as one of his most beloved characters, Ron Bergundy, to announce a sequel to his hit 2004 film Anchorman.

Ferrell said: "I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the U.K. -- including England -- that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman."

It has long been one of the major questions for the star at various junkets and premieres and fans can finally rejoice at the return of the Action 4 News Team. Most of the team from the original film will be returning, including writer/director Adam McKay, who will pen the script with Ferrell as well as producer Judd Apatow. Co-stars Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner have also been confirmed to return. No word yet on if Christina Applegate, who played rival and love interest to Ferrell's Burgundy, will be joining the cast for the sequel. Production is expected to begin at the end of the year for a 2013 release.

Anchorman Director Adam McKay talks sequel and we have the details!

WE all are super pumped about that anchor man sequel and the man at the helm spoke to the hollywood reporter about the sudden unexpected breakthroughs that made the Anchorman sequel a reality, and what we should expect from Ron and the Channel 4 News team when they return.

McKay was asked about why they finally decided to do a sequel he said, "we kept hearing the question so much from fans, and we're like, Shit, man, there's almost something original about doing a sequel, like, can-we-do-a-sequel suddenly became an interesting challenge to us. We got our heads around on it and said, "All right, we'll do it,"
But then lots of conflicts came into play...and the project was dead once again....Step brothers 2 seemed like a better option...he went on to explain that will ferrel and him thought that was the next best step and THAT could be their sequel...but as they were planning for step brothers 2...something came over mckay and he wanted to ask one last time if they could do a sequel to anchorman.

McKay also explained that most of the cast was returning and he was actually in talks with Christina applegates manager about getting her on board once again as well...so its looking like she may be back on screen with the newsteam!

AS far as shoointg, Mckay thinks they will start in jan or feb of next year with a potential release date coming as early as Christmas 2013 or possibly march or may of 2014. Will Smith & Denzel Washington Teaming For 'Uptown Saturday Night' Remake and we have the details!

According to deadline, Adam McKay is in negotiations to develop to direct Uptown Saturday Night, the Warner Bros remake that the studio hopes will star Will Smith and Denzel Washington.

So the gameplan for Mckay is that he would helm the film after he wraps up the Anchorman sequel, which is set for an early 2013/2014 release.

For those of you not familiar with Uptown Saturday Night, the original was set in 1974 and was a comedy that starred Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier as pals who visit an illegal nightclub, and are forced to hand over their wallets to thieves. Turns out one of them contains a winning lottery ticket, emboldening the duo to bump up against the criminal element to get back the wallet.

So what do you guys think? Is this the type of flick you would be willing to see when it hits the big screen? I say if they get denzel and smith, I would totally check it out! Anchorman to premiere before The Dictator, details coming your way!!!

According to a source from collider who caught an advanced screening of The Dictator starring Sacha Baron Cohen---the flick was preceded by a brief teaser of the anchorman sequal feautiing your favorite news team. Heres what the source said, "Just got out of a screening of The Dictator. There is an Anchorman 2 teaser attached featuring the Channel 4 news team (minus Veronica) stating how excited they are to return... a concept that Brick seems to have a hard time with. Also, not sure if it was an official title or more of a slogan but the screen title readAnchorman: The Legend Continues followed by '2013"

Adam McKay, who wrote and directed Anchorman and is currently writing the sequel tweeted this:
"See the Dictator (I worked on it and it's crazy funny), in addition to Campaign trailer with Zach and Will there's another treat before it."

This is really great news considering we weren't even sure a sequel was happening until recently and now we have a teaser to solidify the glory of the channel 4 news team!
