BEN REEL plays rock with a touch of blues and roots and the occasional injection of reggae. Critically acclaimed all over Europe, his vocals are soulful and his lyrics meaningful. Time to Get Real, is the Castleblayney-based songwriters fifth album in 10 years. Its an earthy album which reflects the need to get back to reality in these post-boom times, says the South Armagh native. Ireland lost its way and a bit of its soul in the last decade; now its time to get back to basics. Since his debut, This is the Movie, back in 1999, each album has gone from strength to strength, covering different styles of music along the way from rock, soul, roots to reggae to funk. Now, with this new album, Bens music has evolved into an honest earthy, soulful sound that has matured like a fine wine. Following the radio hit in May 09 with U People on Today FM, the new album has picked up a lot of airplay in Ireland & Europe .featuring on RTE Radio 1 playlist. In February 08 RTE Radio 1 broadcasted a full live Ben Reel gig as part of their In Concert series. His band has performed Blas Ceoil on BBC2 N. Ireland, Dave Fanning's The 11th Hour show on RTE2, performed live on Ray Darcys Show , while U People was featured on Tony Fentons download of the day and was playlisted on Today FM for 3 weeks. In October 09 the band played 2 songs live in session on Pat Kennys morning show on RTE radio 1. Ben is also a regular feature on BBC Radio Ulster espiacally Gerry Anderson and Ralph McClane who have both championed his current and previous albums. In the last 10 years he has supported celebrated names like Jools Holland, Alabama 3 and The Cranberries. He has performed U People with the late great Ian Durys legendary Blockheads, and has recorded the song with award winning saxophonist Gilard Atzman. In the last two years Ben has enjoyed successful tours in Holland, Belgium and Germany, receiving rave reviews and attracting a growing fan base. Along the way he has played with some of the finest musicians in Ireland as his backing band and has built a loyal underground following. Often described as an artist lying beneath the radar for way too long, this simmering pot is about to boil.

When Trevor Finlay stepped onto the stage of The Rutledge in Nashville in the fall of 2008, it felt like home. And two men who were at Tiananmen Square in 1989 have weighed in on Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's reported attempt to revisit the incident. They are skeptical of what Wen is able to achieve so late in his premiership, saying the contending factions within the Communist Party will likely stop any effort for real political reform.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao hopes to push for political reform, according to the Financial Times, citing an anonymous source inside the Chinese regime. Part of that attempt would be to redress the Communist Party's bloody crackdown of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests.
Wu Renhua, a former teacher at the China University of Political Science and Law, was in the middle of the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989. He says Wen Jiabao has left it too late in his term to be discussing political reform.

"I don't think he can achieve what he says. He's been the Premier for two terms -- that's 10 years, and now he has less than 6 months left. If he truly wanted to discuss political reform, he should not have left it to just before his departure to reiterate it."
The Financial Times says, this was not the first time that Wen had wanted to revisit the Tiananmen crackdown. In fact, he brought it up on three previous occasions during high-level meetings in the Communist Party? but was pushed aside by other Communist officials, including the recently purged leftist Bo Xilai.
Fan Zheng, whose leg was run over by a military tank during the Tiananmen Square crackdown, says the contending forces within the Communist Party is why Wen is unlikely to implement his political hopes.

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are co-starring on the big screen! Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. Now it had already been reported by Will Smith, yes the Man in Black himself, that Lady Gaga would have a cameo in the upcoming Men In Black film...we just didn't know how.
Well, now we do, as director Barry Sonnenfield has revealed that Lady Gaga will be making an appearance as an alien in disguise! And she's not the only one. Apparently, Justin Bieber will also be in the film, in a similar role, as will Tim Burton. Sonnenfield explains that they'll each appear on the famous alien surveillance board - something that has been featured in each of the Men In Black films.
So how do they go about getting such big names? As the director puts it, the challenge is getting celebs that are famous, who will give you permission, and will still be relevant in 10 years. He says they've been pretty lucky so far - and adds that he was surprised that Lady GaGa said yes.
Keep in mind - Gaga and Biebs won't be the first celebs to be outed as aliens - Steven Spielberg, Danny Devito, and Sylvester Stallone have all been "honored" as aliens in previous films.

Hey gamers, so Lasercorn and I were talking earlier today about games he wanted to see at E3 this year, but prolly wont. Thig got me thinking about games I'd like to see announced and it brought me back to the rumors about Rocksteady doing a Ninja Turtle game. Now nothing has been heard about this in a while, but what IF it was announced at E3 this year...

Well, if it does get announced, here's what it needs to be awesome. First off, if it resembles anything that's been Ninja Turtle related in the last 10 years, just stop it now. We need to go back to the late 80's and take the inspiration from there. In fact, if uncle phil doesn't reprise his role of Shredder, than I'll be upset. Also, we need some Rocksteady and Bebop. Come on, how could a ninja turtle game by rocksteady NOT have rocksteady in it? And if you're a gamer watching this, and you don't know who these guys are, stop watching this now and o watch the cartoon. The REAL cartoon.

Also, Rocksteady did an amazing job obviously with their Batman games, so let's give the turtles a darker griddier vibe. And if it isn't four player co-op, we'll all be a bit sad. One thing I really enjoyed about Batman Arkham asylum and City was the combat system. Fun and seemless. Also, maybe it's just me, but Leonardo and Raph have some dangerously pointy weapons. I want to see some foot soldiers get stabbed! AM ir ight?
